Chibi originated when Osama Tezuka and Hayao Miyazaki travled to Africa together to observe the Pygmy tribes of the Congo and found them to be most kawaii. Desu. They went back to Japan and started to draw tiny little Animu people and founded the chibi style and all of anime as we know it. This all happened at least 100 years ago.
