Image Selection Process
  1. Go to Google images (images.google.com)
  2. Turn off SafeSearch
  3. Enter article title
  4. "I Feel Lucky" (Note: "I Feel Lucky" for Google Images means rolling 1d20 to pick an image from the first results page.)
  5. Post image (for help on this, please see the appropriate Help section)
  6. Go to Special:Recentchanges and see if anybody edited anything
    • REMEMBER: Do not upload images for which you do not have permission.
    • ALSO: Make sure you leave warnings on so you don't overwrite another image, especially with simple image names.
    • Warning: rolling 1d20 may also summon The Beast. Always roll with caution from the center of a pentagram.
  7. ????

Name your file properly

Don't use "1152938617797.jpg", what /b/'s automated computers named it. Instead, give it a descriptive name.


Describe your Image Fully

Describe your image as if someone who will never look at it can know exactly what is going on. This protects valued readers from shock images and improves ED's google ranking.


The Image Deletion Process

We delete images for two reasons:

  1. Image goes unused for a long time - it will first go into the "Unused Images" section in OpenTasks. If nobody finds a use for it, we'll delete it.
  2. Image requested for deletion - if the person depicted in the photo, or the photo's copyright owner, requests removal of the image, we will remove it (although we hate doing this). If you want to request the removal of an image, your best bet is to contact Girlvinyl or Quasidan.


No Illegal Stuff

  • No child porn; even cartoons are most likely no.
  • No bestiality stuff; cartoons are more than okay.
