Analysis of a recent post
(titled "This post is a serious one"):
Trolls thrive on grabbing attention and blowing things completley out of proportion, introduce gross exagerations and misconceptions as they go. The anti-Troll's task to keep track of these misconceptions as they evolve, so that if neccassary, they can produce an accounting of their character and essentially "serve" the trolls.
One wonders if he does not realise the irony of his own words, particularly the "grabbing attention and blowing things completley out of proportion" part. That he regards himself as the anti-troll- whilst trolling other people's journals to accuse them of being furries, and of all things, "trolls"- is but a hint of his delusionary self-righteousness.
As the Drama over who controls anthropologist and weither REAL anthropology should have a place on it (Isn't it amazing that it is even an issue?) continues to evolve, the point is fast approaching when I will have to make such a post deliniating such an accounting of my character, and of the exaggeration that min_baro and her friends have.
Here, Eurisko97 assumes that there is drama where there really isn't. He seems to imply that there is a great power struggle going on within the said community over moderating rights. In assuming thus, he is actively seeking to create drama, and hence becoming the very thing he wishes to fight against- a troll.
min_baro is actually far from stupid. Sort of. Trolls have atleast some subconscious idea of how people act in a large group, and use it to the advantage of limiting and hampering Discourse. The internet was created for Discourse, and so the Troll is essentially the enemy of the ideals of the Internet in this sense.
Note that this is coming from a member of LJdrama- many members of which are "the biggest and most prolific trolls around."
They are e-Satan's e-angels incarnate. min_baro and her friends will now use all of the misconceptions to discredit me, and widely publicize them so that completley innocent and blameless individuals, if they had been aware of the whole story, will side against me.
Note the number of times he mentions "min_baro". One can only hope he gets over his unhealthy obsession. Here he gets the paranoid impression that min_baro and her gang are out setting up an active campaign against him. According to min_baro; "Huh, what? Tentacle rape? Where?!".
In so doing they will amass the neccasary symbolic capital do that their oppression of anthropologist will be complete.
Again, according to min_baro; "Whaaa? Can I have a cookie, please?"
Psychoanthropolalysis
Psychologist A: The subject exhibits strong paranoid and BPD tendencies. He also expresses minor OCD traits, particularly in his repetitive selection of near-identical online aliases, over-use of Greek, and total absorption in science fiction.
Psychologist B: I'd agree with that assessment. He has shown an exaggerated sense of self-worth, imagined persecution, and has clearly expressed revenge fantasies.
A: I was pondering his apparent difficulties in developing a consistent self-image. This seems to be the underlying cause of many of his overt behavioural difficulties.
B: Yes, I was considering that, myself. It's difficult to conceptualise. He appears to have developed an identity based on a perceived intellectual greatness which expresses itself as a superiority complex. He also has a dystonic association with the "geek" subculture; this subculture implies a social inferiority that does not reconcile with this expressed superiority complex.
A: I was also interested in his difficulty in relating to women. It is apparent that his sexual and social desires are being hampered by his inability to approach attractive individuals on an adult level. This difficulty seems to be feeding back and further stimulating his paranoid nature; females who spurn his advances are cast as unjust persecutors of his person and become targets of derision.
B: An individual with such tendencies is unlikely to be successful on a social level. This further explains his fervent belief in his own mental prowess; poor social skills are often a motivation towards academic pursuits, and a need to amplify perceived talents to a near-godly status. This empty self-belief is likely to continue to grow with each rejection, until the ego can no longer sustain this delusional perception, and collapses into either delusonal psychosis or a severe depressive state.
A: A rather jaundiced pronouncement. When did you get so cynical, Bob?
B: Sorry, Phil - I just hate anyone with so much body hair. I have unresolved issues with my own hirsute mother.
