We're glad you decided to join the ED crew, it's always good to have another editor. However, you're making a common mistake by adding too many stupid templates to your article. It's not a big deal, a lot of new people make the same mistake, but it is something we generally try to discourage. If you want some tips on improvement, try reading your welcome message again (It's got a lot of useful links), reading more articles to get the feel of ED, and reading the Style Guide for help. If you have a question, try asking an admin or the person who left you this message for help.

Don't bitch about Recent Changes, kthxplz.

Go to Special:Preferences, click on "Recent changes and stub display", and check the "Enhanced Recent Changes" box. Works in Mozilla, IE and Opera.

Hey, you've made an article about Mudkips that might have potential, but you should probably work on it or it'll get deleted. Want some tips?

Make it long enough to be worth reading! Several paragraphs at least, and use section headers (using ==Headername==.)
Describe Internet drama or Internet funniness related to the subject. Be funny! Remember that "OMG this is so ghey" is not funny. Keep it somewhat on topic.
Put in a picture or two. Screenshots are your friend (Printscreen button on your compy, than paste with Ctrl+V into MS Paint, then save as a JPG). Upload pics in the bottom left of the sidebar. Help in formatting here.
Add links to websites showing drama and lulz - may be examples, related online groups, whatever. Help in formatting here.
Categorize it. God help you if it has no categories. Categories here.
Above all else, make sure it's funny. Look here for help.
Read How to archive the lulz and the style guide for extra tips.
Read some of the featured articles to see what makes a really good article.

THIS IS SERIOUS; READ IT.

Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:

1. New User

Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.

If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly.

2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.

Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.

Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list.

If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the all new ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter.
