The basis of this file is each section is pretty much a stereotype for a person on Battle.net, which is a chat and gaming server for the line of Blizzard games Starcraft, Diablo, and Warcraft, although many could be applied to any chat server.

Just wanted to inform the trolls that you might be breaking the law with that article about ArtGrounds. Hate speech is certainly illegal in Norway. And isn't it illegal in the USA to publish personal information about minors without their parents' permission? George Bush passed a law recently that makes it illegal to post annoying comments on the Internet without revealing your identity.

I also see that the ArtGrounds article seems to contain a lot more crap than the article about SheezyArt. I don't think anyone gave you permission to use those photos and drawings either, and I strongly doubt that you people can hide under that parody fair use clause for this. ATTENTION ADMINS

It has recently been brought to my attention that an article has been created on your website regarding the art website known as Artgrounds (http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Artgrounds). While a typical article is completely acceptable, this one steps out of line on many points and violates the laws of multiple countries.

The article's creator and author, Needlenose, has not only released information regarding the personal information of a minor without the permission of a parent -- a federal offense in the United States, but has also disclosed the information of several American citizens to the internet without their consent -- another federal offense in the United States as well as a breach in National Security.

Aside from breaking these laws, he/she has also, at many points, completely crossed the boundaries of a parody and jumped straight into complete and total harassment and insult. His/her insults are not based on any supporting material, and serve no other purpose than to offend.

A parody is, by definition, created for comic effect. This article is not humorous, nor is it amusing. It is simply offensive.

Additionally, the artwork which he/she is directly copying and pasting from the artist's galleries violates the artist's copyrights, and is likewise highly illegal. Since this material is not used for a parody but rather to insult, it is not covered by the Encyclopedia Dramatica's policy, nor is it protected by the law.

This situation cannot be solved with Needlenose because he/she offers absolutely no contact information, and has had no prior contact with any of the members of Artgrounds. His/her insults exist solely to upset and offend, and his/her materials were gathered using a proxy server without the permission of the artist or citizen.

It is for these reasons that I ask the admins of this site to please remove the Artgrounds article and ban the user Needlenose for the good of this website. What he/she has done is a violation of the United States's policy of National Security, and if left unchecked the entire website of Encyclopedia Dramatica will most likely be shut down.

  • As for your other complaint, the images taken from your site were placed in the public domain when the users put them on the internet for all to see. If you have any issues concerning copyright violation, please provide information on the registration for the copyright in question with the U.S. Copyright Office.
  • Finally, as a catch-all rule, due to Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, "No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider".
