This Month in Lulz: July 2008

Been living under a rock for the past month? Let ED's This Month In Lulz team catch you up!

  • P-P-P-Powerword! - Moot gives out interviews on 4chan to both The Wall Street Journal and Time Magazine, telling both publications that his real name is actually Christopher Poole. Truth? Or just trolling?

  • Mary Alice Altorfer - Some old woman named Mary Alice Altorfer from Texas takes her grandchildren (who have a black father) to a local community pool, only to discover that the pool has been closed due to a viral outbreak. Staring the woman in the face when she arrives at the pool is a piece of paper taped to the gate featuring a picture of a black man with an afro and the words "Pool's Closed." This internet meme, mistaken for racism, is soon covered by a local news station. Once the internet finds out, hilarity ensues.

  • That other wiki - (Former) Wikipedia admin Bedford attempts to add some Professional Wrestling news of a recent "Brawl and Panties" match to the main page "Did You Know?" of Wikipedia. Once noted suckup and all-star douche Sceptre discovers the tragedy, he quickly rounds up some rabid feminazis to protest what they believe to be a terrible act of sexism. Egos clash, words are exchanged, and the King Wikipedo himself, Jimbo Wales, steps in to settle the matter.

Wow! What else did I miss?
