Goodnight Sweet Prince is a line from actual funny film The Big Lebowski. It is also a popular /b/ post when somebody famous has died IRL; or not, since sometimes it's just a troll to send /b/tards off in a Google-frenzy looking for the 'death' in question. This post usually starts with a picture of the dead guy (since noone cares when wimminz die) in question with a simple line or two of text such as Joey Bishop, (1918-2007), Goodnight Sweet Prince. If the death is real and a beloved hero to Anonymous (usually somebody fucked up like Pol Pot or Hitler but sometimes an 'innocent', downy water mammal such as Bucketseal) much heartfelt discussion ensues. However, if it's just a troll, you can bet the farm that it will be followed by over 9000 similar fake death notices.
The phrase is originally from Shakespeare's Hamlet
"Now cracks a noble heart. Goodnight, sweet Prince. And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest." -Horatio
This is right after the key part of every Shakespeare play where everyone dies. This meme was no doubt born of some /b/tards' drug addled memory of their High School English class.
Goodnight Sweet Prince is sometimes used as a 'death threat' of sorts, (or wishful thinking), when someone needs to gb2bed for good (see: Cho0b from Lulzcon) since Anonymous nevar forgets. This is largely an unfunny exerscise and time-filler but occasionally a /b/tard will pull a gem out of his arse.
