laff0 is an internet enigma. It has no face, no identity aside from a gimmick livejournal and no gender or background known to humanity. Laff0 is only known for one thing: trolling furries and other undesirables of the internet's hideous underbelly and netherworld.

Much like its name, Laff0 is all about the lulz and never fails to get at least a few on any single trolling run.

Laff0 has no background to speak of. Few know this mystery's identity, if it has one at all, and even fewer know where or when it came from. Laff0 first surfaced on livejournal in early 2005, but from the way it acts with other trolls, it seems to have been around in one form or another much earlier than that.

Evidence of this pre-history to Laff0 is its association and friendship with the infamous ashi_moto. They are usually seen together, almost as if corresponding in some void of the internet, piggybacking on each other's discoveries of untapped lulz and stupid drama instigation.

Laff0 also has a keen familiarity with most of the more prominent of the whinier furries, such as blackwingdragon and his pals. This lends one to believe that laff0 was found in the livejournal trolling circuit before the beginning of 2005, but no hard evidence supports this. Some speculate laff0 isn't actually a person and is some sort of evil ghoul or spectre inhabiting a phantom livejournal account.

After being mostly dormant from approximately May to late November of 2005, Laff0 has reawakened and is back in almost full force in the trolling scene. Its glorious return was marked by a ridiculously enormous set of threads on the now-deleted gmork7 livejournal and, most recently, a new attack on blackwingdragon which can be read here.

Laff0's periods of activity wax and wane like the tides, and it is not known if this is a genuine comeback or a temporary flux in dormancy. Only time will tell.

The techniques employed by Laff0 during trolling runs vary greatly. It will often use the tried and true method of simply teasing and provoking the furry and its friends with juvenile insults, personal attacks on things like sexuality, intelligence, weight and body image, personal worth, culture, or lack thereof and other such simple things that almost never fail to get an explosive reaction from someone who wishes to be a freakish chimera of their favored animal.

But, to mix things up and really get furries in a hissy fit, Laff0 will also use cold, hard intellectual brow beating. Accurate research, images, cited articles and overall superior use of facts, examples, basic and advanced academic and trivial knowledge and mostly correct use of grammar and vocabulary seem to throw furries off guard when they're expecting to only have to ignore and pretend to be superior to the aforementioned method of teasing and vulgarities.

Laff0 is a mixed bag of tricks with a little somethin'-somethin' for every occassion.

As with any mysterious entity, rumors always sprout up when facts are scarce. Laff0 is no exception. So far, this has been said to possibly be true of the enigma:

• Laff0 is ashi_moto in disguise.
• Laff0 is the_chill in disguise.
• Laff0 is amenonuhoko in disguise.
• Laff0 is a former member of the former i_hate_furries LJ community.
• Laff0 is retarded or just plain intellectually challenged.
• Laff0 is a homosexual male.
• Laff0 is a person with extremely low self-esteem and therefore must single out unfortunate losers on the internet to tease and make fun of to make itself feel better, which is paradoxical because the mere presence of a furry is self-esteem boosting.
• Laff0 is a confused/angry or insecure member of the furry fandom who copes by trolling its peers.
• Laff0 is responsible for the furctionary and/or omghi2furries gimmick journal.
• Laff0 is someone who has a lot of spare time in their life (possibly due to lack of anything better to do) and uses it by trolling innocent furries.
• Laff0 is God.

The list is sure to grow, but whether any of these rumors are true or false beyond a doubt is anyone's guess.
