Legorobot
From Encyclopedia Dramatica
LegoRobot is an overrated MS Paint webcomic drawn by Bob Averill, who is otherwise best known for managing to get expelled from an Art Institute. He then went on to try and portray the expulsion as the school's prejudice against atheists, while he was BAWWWWWing, classmates came out of the woodwork to give the real story: Bob Averill is a whiny faggot (with a history of emailing photos of his penis to his underage girlfriend).
| “ | My girlfriend of four months is fifteen. For reference, I am twenty two. Am I a pedophile? Of course not. That's a word misused by most people to mean "anyone under the age of consent". The truth is that since she's over 13 she's a teenager, and every heterosexual American man loves teenage girls. (The term for this attraction is 'ephebophilia') Still, in order to comply with U.S. law, we're keepin' it PG until she hits 18. I'm a goody two-shoes like that. And yes, her parents are cool with it. That's not to say I wasn't sweating bullets when they found out, though. I could have bailed to avoid jailarity, but I loved her too much. In the end I chose to stick with her no matter what, and things somehow turned out in our favor. | „ |
| “ | I was in that class. Bob was an asshole. The discussion raged on, to almost screaming levels sometimes, while the teacher was trying to teach. She wasn’t trying to instigate anything and kept telling him that she wasn’t trying to convince him of anything or do anything but share her viewpoint. Bob on the other hand couldn’t let the issue drop and kept bringing it up again and again, trying to force the girl to concede to his opinion. No one liked him, and we all secretly celebrated his expulsion. He was never anything but a disruption in classes, and his work (if he actually ever did it) was generally sub-par. The school was 100% in the right, and he was 110% in the wrong. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Please note that you’re getting this from his side of the story. The other side didn’t got to the papers complaining about it, because it wasn’t a religious issue. It was an issue of him being constantly disruptive in every class he’s ever been in. Rumor mill even has it that he successfully got a teacher fired because he had a vengeance against him or her. Students hated him, teachers hated him, and he got what he deserved. The guy is a petty self-important jackass who seems to think the world revolves around him. ….and don’t even get me started on his rumored hygiene issues….**coughpisssheetscough** | „ |
| “ | I’ve had about eight classes with Bob Averill, and I think the article “Suspension of Disbelief” does a disservice by portraying him as a victim. He was combative and hostile to anyone not sharing his opinion, (especially on God and Nintendo). He was also disruptive in class and spent the majority of class time surfing the internet instead of paying attention. Bob could be funny and nice as long as you didn’t rile him up, but he never seemed interested in being at the school. While I think expulsion is harsh, allowing him to reapply if he undergoes psychiatric evaluation is more than fair. At least some anger management. | „ |
| “ | I have had him in a number of classes and believe me HE DESERVED TO BE KICKED OUT!! This guy is constantly in trouble with almost every teacher he's had. He takes up MASSIVE amounts of classtime just being combative. Here's the truth: The school wanted to respond to his accusations and put out the real reason(s) he got thrown out. The trouble is that due to confidentiality issues, they need his approval to make that information available to the public. When they asked him if they could respond (i.e.: put out the real deal on him) he said no. So he can say whatever he wants and the school can't defend themselves legally! C'mon people, it's an ART SCHOOL in PORTLAND. How crazy do you think they'd have to be to throw someone out because of a few remarks about religion! | „ |
| “ | I’m a student at the Art Institute of Portland. At this point, almost every student in the game arts program (Bob’s classmates) know about his story and we are all glad(a huge understatement)that he is gone. The fact of the matter is, that this case in which he upset one student because of her religion is only one instance in which his behavior has been unacceptable in a classroom environment. I have had several classes with him and from the first moment that I met him he has been disrespectful, arrogant, and disruptive toward his fellow classmates and teachers. I personally don’t believe that he deserves to be in that school. He deliberately ignores teachers and lessons during class and doesn’t turn in any work and abuses the school system just to get a passing grade. I don’t even know why he was going to AIPD in the first place if he’s not even going to try. That just seems like a waste of money. I don’t know if expelling him from the school was equal to his crime, but to criticize the school for taking disciplinary measures further than a slap on the wrist or a warning is wrong. The REAL situation with Bob is that this whole incident was the catalyst for an entire setup of past incidences, like someone getting pulled over and through a background check ending up getting arrested for pre-existing warrants for his arrest. | „ |
| “ | first of all. i ask you all to please, do not make any judgments about my school or anyone involved in this incident. this article is just the tip of the iceberg. yes, i attend to the art institute of Portland in Oregon. i want to get to the point and clarify some things before this further misleads anyone. what i am writing is based on my opinion and mine only. i am also from the GAD (game art and design) major. yes, i have had classes with Robert Averil in the past, several times. and i was also there when he took the witness with him to talk to the dean of student affair (as mentioned in the article). but i can tell you honestly that we are so much happier that Robert Averil is no longer attending to the art institute of Portland. why? because nobody likes him in the school. not because of his 'religion'. our school has a pretty high tolerant for religion. although it is in our handbook to never talk about religion in school, but that's just rules written down to avoid repercussions. the article was correct about the incident. yes, he did talk to the girl about how leprechauns cannot be proven scientifically. basically what the article tells you. everybody in the GAD department knows about this case, because everybody remembers Robert Averil, and when i say remember, i meant "remember". in all of our opinion, the school DID NOT expel robert Averil because of what he said to the girl. if you read the article, you would notice that bob (robert) has a troubled past with the authorities in the school. this incident is the last straw that broke the camel's back. so i think everyone should withdraw their opinions about my school being "strict". bob is a kid who never shuts up in class. and all he does is talk about random things that he dug up from forums and corners of the internet. i cannot deny the fact that he has the ability to learn. but he's a total failure in school. he failed most of his classes, he half-asses most of his works, and lied through his teeth just to get a passing grade. and he doesn't seem to understand other's feeling toward him. he's quite frankly drowning in his own arrogance thinking that he's the best student in school and that attending to school is merely for the purpose to earn a piece of paper and move on with life. we would always joke about the school not expelling him for his poor grades because they are in it for the money. regarding the incident with previous professors. bob used the system and claimed he's disabled and therefore requires a special curriculum. and for the one whole term he gave his professor a hard time and his attitude was just disgusting and awful. in the end, it came to a showdown, and he abused the system to have one of the professors fired. the second incident happened while i was in his class. for the whole term he did not fulfill a single assignment given by my professor. when he presents his project to the class, he would make up long winded stories and bullshits to cover up the poor qualities of his drawings. and in our final, he did not meet the criteria given by our professor, and he was told in his face that he failed the class. almost immediately bob complained to the dean about my professor being biased. the school was sick and tired of the complains received by professors and students and were noticing his grades. you can always find students talking about how much they wish the school would kick him out because of his attitude and his behaviors. and i personally am really sick of what he did after the school expelled him. currently, all of us in school are speculating that, Robert Averil informed the Portland Mercury, the local news paper. and because there werent any announcements, we did not find out about this until after thanksgiving. he wanted to leave with a bang and therefore he is trying all that he could to make news headlines and damage the school's reputation. it's safe to say, you can ask any AIPD students and they would know who Robert Averil is, and they will all tell you the same thing: "nobody likes him because of his attitude and his behavior" i write this for two reasons. 1. i dislike him, and i am terribly upset that an asshole like him is trying to gain pity from the innocent people. 2. i do it because almost 90% of the people jumped to conclusion about my school wronging him after reading the rather misleading article and not listening to both sides of the story. and for those of you who are wondering, this is the other side of the story. | „ |
