A plot bunny is an idea for a story plot, whether it be fiction or fanfiction. The idea for the plot is turned into a plot bunny when the plot is stolen by another writer and turned into a story. The formation of a plot bunny is usually put into place when the creator of the plot idea gets butthurt because he is told his story sucks. Either that, or the creator is so lazy that they can't be bothered to write the story. A frequently used device on Fanfiction.net.

Plot Bunny Creator and Adopter:
The person who abandons a plot bunny after having an idea for one is called a plot bunny creator.
The person who adopts a plot bunny is called a plot bunny adopter.

Plot Bunnies VS. Plot Rabbits

The difference between a plot bunny and a plot rabbit:

A 'plot bunny' is a plot idea for fanfiction piece.
A 'plot rabbit' is a plot idea for an original fiction piece.
The only reason for this difference is because 'rabbit' sounds bigger than 'bunny' and some argue original fiction is harder to write than fanfiction, especially when trying to NOT create a Mary sue.
