TL;DR - E-lawyer

In November of 2006 the California Supreme Court ruled that 47 USC § 230(c)(1) does not permit web sites to be sued for libel that was written by other parties; however, permitting parties to rewrite this libel and not taking action to prevent the libel from taking place is NOT covered by this ruling. By allowing the reverting of this article you are allowing this libel to exist. To prevent possible civil legal action, please close and delete this article. Damages may include both punitive and actual to anyone who reposts this article and the owners of Encyclopedia Dramatica for not inaction.

If necessary, subpoenas may be issued to Encyclopedia Dramatica for the IP Addresses of anyone who reverts this article to a previous illegal state so that they may be included in any pending civil suits. —The preceding comment was added by Ertpolice, who is too much of a faggot to sign his own legal threats. IT'S 4 TILDES, NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

  • Unfortunately for you, not all ED users are American citizens, and the servers reside in a different state from the owners, so you'd have quite a countersuit on your hands. Also, truth is not libel, if you didn't make fursuits this article wouldn't exist, personally i would love to see this get laughed out of a court room. Tell me, would you like all your secret perversions to be a permanent part of US public record? They are part of public record now, but in the court room they would be permanently. Also we are protected by an amendment to the constitution as well, so suck it. --Theburk 18:52, 14 July 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Dox

Are we supposed to be keeping the dox or not? Dianoga 17:02, 1 August 2007 (CDT)

  • She knowingly gives them out. There's no issue. Pokchu 01:08, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

Technically we are not allowed to keep dox. So even though she throws up her contact info, we should not post it. However, it is ok to link to a place where her dox are kept (like here). APW 20:25, 29 April 2008 (CDT)
