This makes me so happy. White•Mystery
- MysteryBot is the best thing to happen to ED since...well, ever. You've done a great deed for the cause of lulz, WM. But it could never truly replace a human sysop, as a bot designed to rub out vandalism could just as easily destroy a legitimate edit, or be tricked. HedgeJew 08:54, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- I decided last night that I'm probably not going to put anti-vandalism stuff into MysteryBot after reading TOW's bot shit for a few hours. Every single anti vandalism bot they have has pages and pages of bitching and moaning about mistakes and problems that the bot causes for innocent edits and editors. My plan right now is to continue adding administrative tasks to MB. The categorization module is going to take me quite a while to get right. White•Mystery
- Indeed, as this is the case with most of the bots over at TOW - with Betacommandbot being the worst, as it's made with Aids and Fail. That being said, MysteryBot is a very welcome addition to the ED line up. ~ CATS 08:59, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
- Thanks :) I'm glad it's turning out to be well-received; I was worried about that more than anything since we've never had one before. Reading about BetaCommand's bot drama was one of my major motivations for not adding anti-vandal capabilities. White•Mystery
- In the long term I can't see anti-vandal capabilities being a problem, as you're keeping a leash on the bot. The biggest problem with BetacommandBot is that it's owner Betacommand couldn't give a shit about any problems with it, with most complaints about it are treated as trolling and thus dismissed. ~ CATS 09:10, 11 March 2008 (CDT)
