I had a SG account for awhile -- a few of the models were nice -- great bodies, cool decoration, and, as much as could be gleaned from the pages they maintained, interesting personalities. Some of the photographers/photoshoots were also interesting in themselves -- I remember one, I forget her name, but she had these long fluorescent-red dreds, and did this whole twisted nurse thing with what looked like piercings-in-progress and real blood. I'm too lazy to dig through the edit history, but whoever said it was right, blood isn't sexy, but damn, it was something to see. Everything in the shoot (the mise en scène, dare I say it) had the feel that every horror movie aims for before everyone involved realizes they're just cranking out another B movie and all say "fuck it," or whatever process happens that makes most movies so bad and/or prevents them from being good. But I digress. The good stuff on SG was in the minority -- few of the people involved with the site approached what they were doing with much imagination: "I'll just wear thick glasses, funky tube socks, a pout, and nothing else, it works for every other model on here!" And some of the models definitely did have the self-destructive tendencies that lead people to overeat. "I'm a stripper and I hate my life, so I'll do some shoots for a website, yeah, that'll make things better. Now let me complain in my profile about how much I hate my life. Hot." The worst part was the guys falling for it. Ah well. To each their own and to each their own end, I suppose.

As a Suicide Girl I find this thread very amusing. I have often questioned some of my fellows sg's sets, but to come out and just start name calling is just immature and pathetic. To think that we're all under-educated failed strippers is an obviously unresearched assumption. To say that we're all breastless, formerly overweight, coozes with bad tattoos is a pretty far stretch as well. I could say that whoever wrote this article is probably a semi-educated conformist male in his 20's to mid 30's who is suffering from underlieing rejection issues, but whats the point in that? Isn't stating the obvious a little.... obvious?
