The Master Plan
From Encyclopedia Dramatica
The Master Plan, AKA "I meant to do that", is a catch-all defense that can be used in any situation where one party has been owned by another, or by themselves. The mechanics of it being that, although it's an obvious lie, the proof that it's a lie is now safely tucked away inside the owned party's head. The downside is that anyone possessing the logic skills of a 4th grader can quickly tear this defense to shreds.
Usage
Variations
- The Method Actor
First pioneered by pigslop, this variant is used in cases of self-pwnage, where one wishes to dismiss all their stupid blunders as "acting".
- The YHBT
It's not clear who used this first, but it's usage is very widespread. The basic premise is that by saying that everything was "a troll", that somehow the owned party will get to escape with some shred of dignity.

- The Joke
This variant is extremely widespread OL and IRL. Delivery is usually done right after someone realizes they just said something completely ridiculous.
Very similar to "The Method Actor", this version is also used in cases where one owns oneself in a public or semi-public setting. The theory being that any self-created uncomfortable situation on the internet can be backpeddled out of, if the party who ruins themself simply dismisses all their faggotry as a "social experiment".
