The weapon of choice for IRCers that want to be a jackass and become the center of attention. It's part of some shitty irc clients like mIRC and Opera's irc program (although it does it back wards, slapping the trout with you). It wasn't funny in the first place. Those people should all feel bad about themselves for their failure at humor.

Can also be used to refer to a lol-cow; see trout pond.
