In olden days, "truth" used to mean something very similar to fact. OK, maybe it never happened, but for now we will not question the truth-value of the previous statement.
Truth is now often simply a matter of opinion, utilized primarily by a few philosophers and self-serving lawyers. Some philosophers and other similarly confused people prefer to refer to "consensual reality" to differentiate it from nonconsensual reality.

"Truth" can also refer to the anti-smoking marketing campaign created by Malboro after they lost some hugeass lawsuit to the United States Government. The purpose of the campaign is to make anti-smoking campaigns look stupid to teenagers. Despite this, the Canadan government used the Truth campaign as the basis for its "Stupid" campaign. (No, I'm not kidding.)
