The media and concerned mothers everywhere have long enjoyed belaboring the same talking points and nanny-state bullshit about supposed "evils" of internet trolling. In general, it is a widely accepted belief that the public at large sees trolling as the pastime of neckbearded nerds who seek to vent their self-loathing and frustrations on the rest of humanity. While this is often true, what has often been overlooked, by and large, is that in a few rare instances, trolling has produced some undeniably "positive" results. Trolling is rarely acknowledged as a check against the oft-repeated pitfalls of internets faggotry. This is not to say that trolling is, by any means, an institution of internet humanitarianism, but if a man like Argent009 can become lucid enough to say "it's just the internet", then clearly some miracles have been wrought. Pursuit of lulz often yields results over time, regardless of intentions behind it.

Argent009

Case in point. One of the most trolled men in the history of YouTube (or the internet for that matter). His history with ED is a long one, and at one time the butt of every joke, Argent009 was a maniacal lolcow who pretended to be an internet cop (complete with a "badge number"). He routinely threatened "the haters" with lawlsuits, and tried to rally the YouTube "community" to grab their pitchforks and join him in his quest to "clean up the internet".

After getting trolled to the brink of insanity and disappearing off the YouTube radar, Argent seems to have emerged a new man. As if his colon had been cleansed with Cillit Bang, he now uploads, for the most part, relatively "normal" videos and is less of an epic douche. He's become a standing argument that a fat, bald, pathetically hopelessly lolcow could actually change.

Thedramatube aka Casey Nunez

Casey Nunez, AKA "The Psycho Hurricane", was an absolutely batshit insane pathological liar, with delusions of grandeur. He would regularly upload the most bizarre videos threatening people, namedropping celebrities he claimed to know, talking about movie deals he supposedly had in the works, bragging about all the spam in in his email, singing in drag, etc. Casey was convinced that having a YouTube account was the equivalent of hosting his own TV talk show. His claim to fame was that his "show" was "THE FASTEST GROWING SHOW IN INTERNET BROADCAST HISTORY LITERALLY".

Many accounts and lulz later, after a good and thorough pwning, Casey would eventually emerge a new man. No longer under the delusions of being an internet Jesus, Casey now lives a more "normal" life, on and off the internet. He has a new set of teeth, no longer records himself making weird noises or brandishing guns, and, for the most part, has managed to stay out of the spotlight.

Skuee - An underage b& who was once a total spazz. Skuee basically completely disappeared from the trolling radar about a year and a half ago, having been banned numerous times. Skuee returned to YouTube a while ago very nonchalantly and appeared to have gotten his shit together since being trolled back in the day. He appears much more "normal" now, from the looks of it, so the age factor is probably the biggest reason. Puberty seems to have run its course and he may be finished with his aspie rage fits. Although he recently returned to YouTube attempting to bury his pass under new identities (ones he didn't keep secret for long) trying to convince people he's some 1337 H4xx0r now. Only time will tell.

Ian Crossland (aka Crossmack) - Ditzy boy-toy hippie on YouTube. Suffered moderate trolling in his time. At the same time, he seems to still be oblivious due to his own bubble headed world-view and inability to perceive how people view him. He is not generally a trolling target anymore, nor is he generally even on the YouTube radar as much as he was in 2006 and 2007.

Applemilk1988 - Less of an arrogant bitch now.

Jawsus - A lolcow whose sort of faded from the radar. He's not an active mark for trollage anymore, more of a hit-and-run target for random haterz now.

Ernest Peters - Definitely helped him. He's only lucky he got caught while still in high school, otherwise he'd probably be schlepping to the local community college every day.

Factors affect any target's ability to "improve" such as age: the younger the target, the more likely they are to react constructively over time. This is simply self-evident - the older the individual, the more likely they are to be fucked for life. By its very nature the internet avails itself to people with mental illness, disabilities, addictions, obsession, unusual sexual or other fetish, narcissism, vigilante-complex, sociopathy, anti-social behavior, personality disorders, clinical depression, and other physical or mental diseases or disorders. Some people can learn, those who can't lack the power to change or gain perspective on an embarrassing trail of self-ownage. This is usually due to a failure to become self aware, no limit break will stop them from fagging up the internet.
