In LiveJournal community newyorkers, the members are accustomed to people asking the following three questions ad nauseam:

1. What's a good place to get X kind of food?
2. What should I look at when I'm a tourist?
3. Where can I find cheap housing?

True to form, ranai posted her own question:

“	Number one, is it going to be even remotely possible to find a pet friendly 2BR that's not in Rape City, Brooklyn, for under $1800?	„

Some members got offended, while others made themselves equally tiresome by lecturing everyone on having a sense of humor. A few, however, recognized "Rape City" for the potential meme it was.

A few months later, loungeact posted a similar question:

“	just curious about bay ridge, bk, as it looks like i'll be moving there soon. i just want to know that i'll be safe walking alone late at night as a little, white girl. i get the feeling that bay ridge is a pretty secure area, but just wanted to be sure.. also, was hoping i might be referred to any cool things to do: coffee shops, quirky clothing or toy stores, good bars (no hip hop or crotchy dancing spots, just something chill or with a rock n' roll vibe), etc.	„

While loungeact claimed to be "the farthest thing from a bigot," readers noticed that her "current music" field listed Prussian Blue, and lulz ensued.

Since that time, "Rape City," "crotchy dancing," and "little white girl" have all become LJ memes, even though some people tried to declare them old meme before they got good.
