Formatting Issues
First, I'd like to thank you for your efforts to clean up ED. Not many people take the time to actually do it. However, Ive seen some issues when you are formatting pics on larger pages. Taking all of the thumbs and placing them at the top is good for smaller articles, but you can run into problems if there are many sections or large images in the article. Trust me, I learned this the hard way. For example, your edit here produces the following on my browser:

What you have to keep in mind is that the format you see on your browser is not universal. In order to make the pages viewable to the most readers, you have to try to keep thumbs at 1-2 per section, and if there is a large picture in the article (like the internet hate machine), you have to break up the chains of thumbs, in order to avoid the huge white spaces you see above. This also avoids the (edit) (edit) (edit) (edit) (edit) (edit) (edit) (edit) in the middle of the page which, basically makes it more difficult to edit. Finally, if you make the long list of thumbs at the top of the page, retards are more likely to recognize that, and place their shitty MSPaint job at the top of the Mudkipz page for teh lulz. If you break them up, it becomes more cryptic, and sometimes they resort to linking to their photobucket because they cant figure it out.

{{clear}}
When I was making my Quick Links bar for my talk page I had to crop some pics to make them look OK in the boxes. The cat turned out really good cropped, so I just went ahead and replaced it.
{{clear}} is a strange template, and it does some weird things. Its primary function is to make a division between what's above and what's below it. If you look at the section above (A Winner is Joo!) you'll notice how {{clear}} makes everything written under it start showing up under the pic. If we take it away we get the following:

Notice how I just used {{clear}} to start typing again just now.
Clear's most common application is when you get large object like pics and galleries overlapping each other slightly, and you need to keep them separated. It also useful if you run into a template or objects that has a defective coding, and is fucking up the formatting underneath it (such as inexplicably centering the rest of the page). Inserting {{clear}} after the code tells it to stop applying whatever it's coding after the {{clear}} template. Well, usually it works.
Sometimes I see people inserting {{clear}} at the end of each section to make the page look uniform, but this is EXTREMELY unnecessary, and can fuck up the formatting in certain instances, and make to page harder to edit for people who don't know WTF {{clear}} is.
