Non Thumbnail-izing Imagery

Actually, I did know how to: "this is how you make turn an image into a thumbnail and add commentary to it". But, sometimes I don't bother. Like in the case of the Lynndie page the article was too sparse to be worth the effort. Oh yeah, and there was a method to my madness. I went to the ???? page and checked out all the pages that linked to it -- then opened the first 20 or so articles in separate tabs and promptly deleted many of the poorly implemented ????/PROFIT!s. In most cases, I had to retool the lists that they were part of and while I was there, I made other changes as I went (grammar, syntax, removing shit), including adding lots of tags to pages that needed work. Yeah, I might attempt to make such a template myself, but I don't know how well a template would be able to contain the sort of versatility that you'd have just doing it without. Personally, I prefer to learn things the hard way in terms of CSS and editing, because it gives you a much deeper understanding of the whole process, rather than simply copypasta'ing a template, although I know that templates are occasionally called for in order to simplify. Maybe I should just write an explanation page or something for that sort of slideshow content; I think that would probably be more helpful to people than a template. Also, I need to make a basic demonstration of the Morphing table that I recently implemented to replace the old collapsing table on the Newgrounds page.-Juggitytalk •contributions 06:23, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

I'll definitely start working on all this stuff over the next couple of days. I very much agree with you that shortening these (visually) overlong articles should be the main task to which we put ourselves, and I'm sure there are quite a few pages which could use slideshow-esque templates or formats to accomplish that goal. You've probably already seen my template:bigpic, which does the vertical scrolling on extremely long images, and I think it's probably a step in the right direction as well. Crystal-for-ever article cleanup

Yo, wasup. I'm the EDiot who more or less has taken it upon himself to do much of the work on said article. I'm by extension to blame for its clutter, too. I'm trying to cut out a bunch of the garbage [There's motherfuckin' lots of it] and add in some moar lulzy and recent shit to the page. Sort of a work in progress. Seriously. I actually use Firefox, and ironically, it looks worse in Firefox than it did in Internet Explorer [which I stopped using all of three days ago]. To that end, I'm going to clean the entire swarm of thumbnails that the other EDitor for that page, user:cutepika25 suddenly spammed up onto it. It looked worse before I cleaned it up a bit a couple days ago, trust me, he'd had the shit centered in the page so it was like...shit, I can't even describe it. It looked even moar like ass than it does now, no fuckin' joke.

Cleanup operation is gonna take about three days. When I'm finished, I'll hit you up and let you review it, see if any other improvements can be made. Makes your job a little easier and gives me something to do for once other than cleaning up fucktarded grammatical errors on all the backwater pages.

I've been working damn hard on Shock site - it now has 2.5x the content it used to by bytes. I was encouraged by the fact that it's currently the second most popular site on the net if you Google shock site.

It's a really great idea for a template, and the execution is top-notch from what I can tell. The one thing I wish there were an option for would be altering the color of the quotation marks themselves, as in Template:Quote. Thanks. I wasn't in any massive hurry to get it added to the series template, so it's all good. I think I might try to implement the color quotation marks option in the morphquote template sometime soon. It'll be kind of a daunting task because there are so many variables and code itself is very messy in its current state. It will probably be possible only to define a single color for the quotes, but its better than the default.
