[edit] About Me (Like Anyone Cares)

Revy in real life. Beware all who trespass, or prepare to feel the wrath of 300 Desus~!
Revy in real life. Beware all who trespass, or prepare to feel the wrath of 300 Desus~!

Ohayou, to konnichiwa! Hajimemashite *bows politely to show utmost respect*. Atashi (I am a hermaphrodite) wa Reyvataeil/Revy desu. Doozou yoroushiku! As you can tell from my introduction, I am indeed enamoured by Japanese culture, and thus I apparently qualify as being Wapanese. While I do not eat, sleep, and breathe Japan, the label itself would not be completely inaccurate. I’ve been one way before I even knew what ED was, and I suppose I’m one of many who fit the description. It all started with a simple manga book (actually, by a non-Japanese manga-ka XD), and me having no clue whatsoever about Japan. From there I went on to watching my first anime on Adult Swim, InuYasha. I was also introduced to others such as FullMetal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Ghost in the Shell, Fish Smuggler (both the anime itself and the movies from which the anime was adapted), Cowboy Bebop, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Eureka Seven, Fooly Cooly, Death Note, Blood+, Trinity Blood, Wolf’s Rain, Naruto, and Bleach. Actually, Adult Swim’s shows are about the only ones I would ever watch with English dubs, because I cringe when I hear about every other besides those listed. I have since preferred all my anime in their original, true-to-source language, Japanese. This has coincidentally helped me improve in my own fluency of said language, but I far from know it well enough that I won’t feel like a total ass suddenly speaking it when I feel the need or just want to. Oh, but please understand that even if you go by the nature of what I just wrote; simply know that this is about all I will shove at you about my history as a weeaboo. It's not that interesting to a normal person, and rightfully so (only members in anime Club in my school would care, or at least my friends do). If you happen to decide to converse with me, either for fun or to have a discussion, I can promise you I will not bring up any of the aforementioned. I love chatting with people, whether I know them personally or not, so don't be afraid to take a chance, who knows, I might just put out!

[edit] I Am Furry ( Am I "In Denial"?)

Ummm...No thnx, I'll pass...
Ummm...No thnx, I'll pass...

Second off, I am not by any means a “Furry”. I don’t associate with that kind of lifestyle, and I personally find it a bit creepy (like voraphiles and furry inflation/fat furries; I especially dislike the idea of dressing up in fursuits *shivers*…but hey, cosplay isn’t much better, especially when it involves fatties…I’m glad I don’t partake -_-;…). The only reason I would involve myself with such people is if I’m…what? Interested in furry anatomy? Or maybe an artist who is a furry, closet or not, just happens to have some really great artwork (I am an artist after all…I enjoy looking for inspiration, but I never rip people off) that is worth noting? Beyond that, I tend to distance myself from most furries, and I can say that I am glad my friends are not ones either (I'd probably sever all connections with them if they came out of the closet and said they were). In regards to my own drawings, I do occasionally add in the style of "nekomimi" (cat ears, tail, etc.)/"kemonomimi" (just about everything else in regards to animalistic features...you know: dogs, wolves, foxes, rabbits, sheep, etc.); however, most of my work is too abstract, meaning I don't draw manga-derivative art in the traditional sense, so to say...sometimes I even have to ask other people for their input in identifying what I have drawn. This makes it a whole lot more difficult to be able to call my work out on any style device of the sort.

[edit] Discovering The Site That Is ED (& What It Has Taught Me)

Snapesnogger, now "...exposed in all her terrible, haggardly visage" thanks to ED.
Snapesnogger, now "...exposed in all her terrible, haggardly visage" thanks to ED.

Alright, now on to how I actually discovered this site. Well, to make a long story short (if that’s even possible with the way I am known to write)…I remember looking into one of my favorite sources of inspiration, DeviantART, and I was just perusing the works of some of my favorite artists, one of which I admit was actually Snapesnogger, who is now exposed in all her terrible, haggardly visage here on faithful, true-to-the-source ED (I luff you for that so much ;_;). Well, when I happened upon her page one day, I saw her account had been deleted, and after looking at the many messages people had been sending to the page as a response, the one thing I found in common with most of them was the mention of this site, so I Googled it just for kicks. I put “Encylcopedia Dramatica + Snapesnogger”, and the first entry I got was from here! So, I click. I have to admit that yes, as a fellow artist and former admirer of Snoggy’s work, I was a bit offended myself. But…I started to look more, and closer, and with all the information backing up what was written there (I was influenced the most by the many pictures & even quotes/screencaps of Snoggy’s…ugh…terrible attitude), I really started to find that while this site was known for its lulz content, I found most of it to be quite true. I could find no way around the fact that this once great artist and person in my mind was really nothing like I had once suspected. Thanks for that, ED *hugs*! I will seriously be eternally grateful.

[edit] Moar On The Above (The Moar Reason To Rant)

Oh, how easily the mighty have fallen. Stooping to this? I can only imagine what's next on the agenda.
Oh, how easily the mighty have fallen. Stooping to this? I can only imagine what's next on the agenda.

Oh, but Snoggy’s page was not the only one that gave me a rude awakening to the realities of the art-based world. I soon learned that even more of my idols were…tracing. Yes, tracing. I couldn’t believe it. I was especially shocked by the many screencaps detailing both the original source and the copied ones that the artists did, and I could barely believe my eyes. I knew them to be true, however, because while I am not a practitioner of tracing, I do like to look for images I like, put them on a board of sort, take out a clean piece of paper or sketchbook, sit near the image, and eyeball it while drawing what I see from my perspective. Now, I know what something eyeballed looks like in comparison to something blatantly traced, and unless you have perfect eyes and aim, you cannot accurately depict the same drawing you see from a distance onto another piece of paper. You’d have to be, like, a Persocom to do that! Not even human! So, this was another great disappointment of mine. But I digress. I have spoken (moar liek ranted) enough about this subject.

[edit] My Prerogative (Lulz Is My Lyfe)

Domu-kun reprimanding me for acting like a faggot on ED. He's a good teacher.
Domu-kun reprimanding me for acting like a faggot on ED. He's a good teacher.

Now on to why I joined ED! The real reason I joined ED is because, well, after looking at many, many articles on here and considering things I would like to talk about as well, I decided I would like to contribute to this ever growing website. I find it fascinating and frankly quite fun (I would not recommend eating while browsing this site, however…not a good idea at all…I know from experience). I found it the most enjoyable to search for various topics I know to be dear to me, such as art, anime, and manga (there are subjects within those too, but that’s not important). I liked laughing at the takes on such things, and I can definitely admit I didn’t mind them in the least, and in fact I found many of them very true, if not explained in a crude manner (the cruder, the better, actually; gets the message across easier). Since my registration to ED, I have contributed some pictures and bits of text here and there where I find it necessary (at least by my standards; I’m in Honors English and I often find myself searching ED for misspelled words or areas where not enough information is provided [Stubs], and subjects such as anime and manga get some of my help as well). As for trolling, I really don't know. While online, I have at least a somewhat more assertive attitude, which helps me cope with e-bullying and harassment, but I am not sure if I could ever really consider seeing myself as a troll, in a professional sense or not...I mean, sure you can get some really great, worthwhile information out of it, but when I think about how I would personally feel getting trolled (I know; don't stir up drama!), I kind of back away...

[edit] Write To Me! (Or Feign Ignorance @ My Existence)

Let's be good frandz...

...or I just might decide to erase you from existence <3. It’s definitely a pastime of mine.
...or I just might decide to erase you from existence <3. It’s definitely a pastime of mine.

Well, from this you can certainly tell I like to write, and I have no shortage of things to say in cases that I am acquainted with, or just in an introduction (I do this with most of the websites I’m registered on, if ya can believe that). Please feel free to leave a message or “Irasshai~!” on my "User Talk" page; I would love to hear from other ED folks! I’ll be lurking around the site from time to time, when I don’t have a ton of homework after school (I’m also on our school’s Yearbook, the Etruscan, so sometimes I have to do interviews…), so if you see even some minor changes in spelling, descriptions/captions, or even additions to pages, it could be me =).

[edit] The Wapanese Test 0_o; (A.K.A.: F.A.Q.)

Holy shit. Fuckin' hell, I'd never be caught dead dressing up as a fucking furry/anime character; and it's InuYasha's Sesshomaru, at that!. That's really too sad, even by my standards. Oh...oh! But what's this? Even a little bit of vore added in for good measure! How niiice.

This should give you folks a good understanding of how much a Japanophile I truly am (to each his own, after all; not all otaku think/behave/sound/look alike). I'm putting this out there for the heck of it. I could care less what anyone makes of the answers I give here, but I would prefer if you kind people refrain from doing silly things like changing my answers and making me sound even more fucktarded than I really am. All in all, take this with a grain of salt. I have saved my answers (and the rest of my "User Page" as well), so I will look back here at times and check up on things. Well, here you are (oh, and by the way if you happened to not know, this "Test" came from the Wapanese page on ED here).

I do both, actually. I either buy manga when I happen to have the money (when you have manga, who has the money for drugs?) or I simply sit in the bookstores with the rest of the otaku (quite a few, actually) and read there. I remember when I had my Bat-Mitzvah I used most of the money I received (some $200.00 so) to buy truckloads of manga. Of course, that was before when I had just discovered the literature type, so I know now that I had gone a little bit overboard there. I have several series now, mostly either yaoi or shoujo. I keep the rest of my manga on my laptop (currently up to about 20-25 GB, consisting of yaoi, shoujo, and ecchi), which I download from various sites I have found over the past. I can read a number of manga volumes a day, sometimes even a full series before I get tired.

I sure do! I have over 50 favorites currently. It all started with my discovery of Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, and Yu-Gi-Oh! At that time I had no idea that this genre of animation was even called anime, I just remember thinking to myself about how different it seemed from the American cartoons I used to enjoy watching so much. Then Toonami came around, and only a little bit later I discovered Adult Swim and began watching the shows that aired on there as well. Of course, the only anime I will tolerate being dubbed in English are the ones Adult Swim shows. The rest make me cringe *shivers thinking about some "fine" examples*. I also fucking hate 4Kids! TV and the anime they have so obviously butchered for the "good" of the American public. Fine fucking bastards, huh.

  • Do you go to AZN food markets?

I do not go to them on a regular basis, or often at all. I have gone to the one close to our house once, called “Mitsuwa”. I really liked it; the people there were all so friendly! Conversing with them is really no problem at all, and they were so polite (one reason I kind of prefer the Japanese over Americans: they actually have manners) I especially enjoyed their book section, which consisted of all types of reading material, including tankubon and manga in Japanese. I bought those and some Lamune and pawky, because you know all weeaboos need that stuff to survive XD.

Desu nya~! (Love Suiseiseki :3)

I do, but only for the sole purpose of being able to view mature rated content. I would have been uploading my thousands upon thousands of drawings as well, if not for the fact that I have no time and no incentive to do so. I don't really want a big, inflated ego even if my drawings did receive lots of positive praise and sudden demands for moar.

  • If so, do you contribute lots and lots of animu fanart?

I prefer to refer to my work as “manga-derivative”, because that's just what is essentially is. I have been heavily influenced by both manga and anime, but since I draw and not animate my work, the term "manga-derivative" suits my purpose and aim far better. And no, I do not contribute any work. The way I see it, whether or not I had time to scan and upload my work, there’s enough on DeviantART that pertains to that style already. I’d be another drop in the bucket; one in a million. I must admit, however, unlike many artists who have a purpose set out in front of them when drawing, I never plan ahead. I just let it all flow from my imagination through my pencil and onto paper.

  • Have you fapped today?

I don’t, really…unless I…feel the urge or something? No, I have not “fapped” today, or for a while, actually. Been a bit too busy to even do that. And, do you really call masturbation for a girl "fapping" anyways? moar liek "rubbing", I would think.

  • Was it to AZN porn?

Nope. Not a big fan of real life...um...sex...It makes me a little antsy...but not "antsy" as in, like, "horny" as some people might suspect. It just makes me feel weird.

Eh, I don’t really “fap” to hentai, plus I’m really specific about the type I even look up. I like consensual relationships in any case or scenario and I also like seeing both partners enjoying themselves. I know that hentai is supposed to mainly focus on the woman, which I can understand, but hey, that’s just me.

Oh god no, that stuff is disgusting. Since I’m a girl too, I just don’t see how getting fondled and having slimy appendages shoved up your ass and pussy seems like much of an enjoyment. That to me is a strictly male sexual fetish. It’s like they all want flexible, long dicks (more than one to boot) so they can fuck a woman in any position humanely possible. Eurgh. That is...just...not...cool.

  • Do you have at least 2 animu posters in your room?

Hahaha! I don’t even believe it myself, but in fact I do! My father is a doctor who receives many types of patients, and one time he just happened to get one who had quite a few InuYasha wall scrolls and posters, so he gave them to me! I remember coming home from school (8th grader in middle school), going up to my room (in my old house; moar liek a f'in mansion), walking in and seeing a magnificently done InuYasha wall scroll hanging on my wall, adorned with all my favorite characters I had gotten to know so well! I was just so happy ;_;.

  • Do you argue with your friends about animu?

Yes, we have gotten into discussions about our favorite anime. It usually consists of me trying to get them into trying out a new anime I discovered (like Mushi-shi, 5 Centimeters Per Second [Movie], or Air TV). We also talk a lot about video games; one of my girl friends is obsessed over the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, which I have to admit I and II were quite good, but I could never see myself living day by day thinking about them. I’m more of a Final Fantasy, Square Enix person myself, but I’ll try just about any RPG that comes along and looks worthwhile. I'm currently into Odin Sphere and the first Ar Tonelico game, Melody of Elemia.

  • Do you win these arguments?

I have in the past, yes. Most of the time we find ways to compromise and compensate, though.

No; if anything, I'd go to one because I’m hungry. Plus we don’t really eat Japanese cuisine all that often. We have, however, gone to the Japanese market near our house, which I really liked. The food there was especially good! And my god if those goddamn fishcakes in the ramen soba didn't look like something straight out of fucking Naruto (which, as you all may know, is "fishcake" in Japanese). Jesus.

  • Have you tried learning Japanese for a reason other than business?

While I have known Japanese to be a very elite business language, I personally wouldn’t mind being able to uphold a normal conversation in said language. This would probably be something I’d want to be able to do if I were to actually visit Japan. Me and my friends, while we do know small amounts of Japanese (probably me more, because I have the time to watch anime and I most almost always watch it in Japanese, while my girl friend likes it dubbed more), we know we'd be making complete asses of ourselves to start suddenly speaking it when 1. Barely anyone in my school knows the language, let alone is Japanese, and 2. We don't know enough to gauge whether or not we are speaking it correctly.

  • Was it just to watch animu?

No, that would be a silly reason to learn such a difficult language. Of course, I’d consider it a bonus because learning Japanese = no annoying, blocky subtitles in the way of the actual animation.

  • Did one of your Japanese friends comment on how bad you were butchering the language? (providing you have any in the first place).

Yes, yes, I do have friends, despite contrary belief. I do not, however, attempt to use the language around them and neither do they. Also, as I stated above, we all clearly know that we’d only be making asses of ourselves trying to speak the language without having a firm grounding in it.

A “hentaiconvention, huh…Never heard of one of those. Oh well. Anyways, I have never been to a convention in my past 16 years, but this year anime Club and I happen to be going to ACen (Anime Central) 2008. I’m very excited, but I don’t plan on embarrassing myself by cosplaying. I’ll leave that feat up to the professionals who actually look the part.

  • Have you worked at a con?

I have not, and I don’t plan on doing so anytime in the future. It’s enough for me to simply visit one.

  • Have you ever made an AMV?

No, I have never made an Anime Music Video, but I have created some interesting scenarios for possible future creations. For instance, the two I have made up which come to the forefront of my mind is 1. Anime: Elfen Lied, Song: In Too Deep, Artist: Sum 41 & 2. Anime: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Song: Movies, Artist: Alien Ant Farm. Yes, old song/artist choices I know, but the songs for some reason work so well with the scenes I have picked out in my head…it’s killing me I haven’t even created them yet! But before I even begin, the first step for me is learning how to use the programs used to create one, and then actually understand the fundamentals in making a successful (not craptastic) Anime Music Video.

Nope. I hate Naruto. That anime would be the absolute last choice I would pick if I were given the chance to create an Anime Music Video. It’s just too generic for me. I enjoy watching deep, meaningful anime, which would entail a fucking plot (and stellar animation to boot; it’s not impossible....I've seen it done), not just a bunch of senseless ninja battles, clan rivalries and whatnot.

Please first explain to me how you can "own" a Narutard, because the last time I checked a "Narutard" described a person, not an object. Since I hate Naruto, I would not…uh…“own” a Narutard by any means, let alone the anime series itself.

  • Have you ever subbed anything for Dattebayo or the like, or are you attempting to study Japanese just so you can sub for some failed subbing group?

While I don’t mind watching fansubbed anime, I cannot see myself pursuing a job in such a department. It’s not an easy thing to do, no matter how much Japanese you learn. Heck, if I were to learn Japanese anyways that would be enough for me. I’d be able to watch anime just fine with that.

  • Do you have any clothes with animu characters printed on them?

No, I own no clothes with anime characters on them. Some of my friends own such apparel, however.

  • Is this most/all of your clothing?

It’s none of it. I like sweatshirts the most (especially during the winter weather we’ve had recently).

  • Do you own a cheap, knock-off katana?

No, but I have a guy friend who does; he’s planning on cosplaying as a “random Shinobi” this year at ACen. This should be exciting…*snickers*…

  • Do you use the ^_^, T_T, ., etc. expressions?

Sure do! I love kao-anis as well…They really are the most adorable things!

  • Do you have a fetish for AZN men/women?

Not as much as some of my other friends, but sure, I can’t say I hate ‘em. I just think it’s a bit of a silly fantasy to drool over some guy/girl in a foreign country and expect to become any closer to them through just that. That’s the reason pen pals and messaging exist.

  • Do you browse 2chan, 4chan, 7chan, 420chan, or /b/ etc?

I browse Iichan (Idle-chan) the most, but I have been known to lurk for fun, lulz, and possible in-the-making Epic Threads (ftw!) on 4chan and /b/ in my spare or bored hours. It is an unending well of entertainment at the cost of other people's integrity. Plus, being Anonymous rocks; post whatever you want, no consequences there (I’m already completely contradicting what I said on this page about my annoyance with Anon vandalizing it)!
