[edit] A NOTE TO THE DESIGNERS

We are looking for some xhtml and css to use for our new forums. I would like it to look kind of professional, slick and maybe even crazy. I need backgrounds to be very light though. Here is the beta layout that we have been using: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/Image:Picture_4.png

You can kind of see what we are generally going for. I need one column. Maybe kind of like digg, but with no right column for menus, etc. We will be using a pulldown menu in ajax. I am down with whatever colors look cool. Hell man I would love to see weirded out plaids and dark panel woodgrains too! Let me know if you are down. I will post this explanation to my talk page as well.

The forums we are making are going to freak everyone out so this is a good chance for you to get much internet cred. You can also help shape the new face of encyclopediadramatica.com.

You can post questions here, or just take a stab at it and post links to your designs.

Oh hai, I'm doing a logo too, or sketching one at least.

As you can see, I have been working with a more classic style, but there's still some incompatibility between the logo and the text. While the logo needs some work, the "Encyclopedia Dramatica" text is set with the Adobe Garamond font, and looks nice if you want to take a serious and clean approach (being a parody and sattire site, the classic theme might actually work). In Test 2, the line example at the left would work better if the text was done in Bahaus-like fonts.
