Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:
- 1. New User
- Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly.
- 2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.
Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.
Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list.
If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the all new ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter.

It's at ED:BASIC. A few other hints: [[Image:Example.jpg|thumb|CAPTION]] will allow you to make thumbnail images with a caption that stick to the walls. It's better. And clicking the signature button or typing ~~~~ will sign comments, which is good also. Aaaand try to stay away from emoticons and ^ ^ -style things. - "Lol" is fine. Having heaps of xXx and ^_^ is not. We're tolerant of new users - I remember when I didn't know how to use wikicode or anything, as do the rest of the admins, I would imagine. Being new will not get you banned, but refusing to learn will. Check the furry page, have a look at what I changed with your code to stop the image raping the article.--yirimyah ♠ æ 05:25, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

A client is just a fancy name for the program that you use to connect to IRC. mIRC is free, as is XChat. They're pretty straightforward to configure too-Ket Refill/lol 06:09, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Alcoa. Um my images are quite simply the result of google image search -- just type in horrible things, like "severed artery", turn off SafeSearch, and away you go. Will look at your edits later. :D Tfo 03:34, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism on Wikipedia
ED can't and doesn't care to police their editors actions off-wiki and vandalism is lulzy, so asking if oyu can vandalize is kinda pointless. Just don't indicate that you're from ED, or represent ED in any way or whatever, that's trouble. Miltopia 23:52, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Unfortunately, the crusades are pretty disorganized. The plan is to launch the attack when enough people(10-15?) decide to join up. Possibly a scheduled date would push people to join now and not sit on it... or, we could also be left with a 3 man invasion.
