←Lemme see - you can have 'sheriff' option, which allows sysops to be able to de-sysop another, in case you get a rouge one. You can grant rollback for ordinary editors, which gives them the admin-like 'rollback' button. I have to say, my rollback finger was twitching yesterday when those floodbots showed up on here (that felt weird. "What the fuck are you guys doing vandalising ED? Shit - no rollback" :) ). On Translatewiki, they have 'Translators', who are allowed edit MediaWiki and have the power to baleet stuff (but not restore). It's pretty easy to set up these extra permissions without using extensions and stuff; it's just a matter of getting your local dev to config a few files. The main problem is, we had a super organised slave cracking the whip until March when it was freed by the ghost of Abe Lincoln. Without notice. If my personal life wasn't a trainwreck and I wasn't otherwise engaged with L Ron Hitler's crew (actually, a lot of our Sysops also took up the fight against COS to the detriment of the wiki), I would have stepped in to be the house dick but we had no idea that the slave was gonna bolt the cotton field. WhiteMystery and his bots were a godsend, as was the return of Killhamster; without those bits of serendipity, things would be much worse.

tl;dr: ED is getting too fucking big and exponentially becomes a bigger pain in the arse with each newfag shitposter that signs up.

EDIT: of course it doesn't help being a Sysop with a lappy that takes a full minute to load a wiki page. ED is slow but this shit is ridiculous.
