Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:
- 1. New User
- Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly.
- 2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.
Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.
Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list.
If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace and the ED Bebo.

Cool. Thanks. I'm a newfag user, and I tried to look at the Sandbox thing but it just popped up a bunch of fucking windows that spammed my computer for the lulz apparently. I'll do my best to lurk moar.

If this is too much to ask, go to the list of lulz wikis where you'll probably find something less demanding for your crap stubs. NOT DONE Sign comments in Talk pages. If you're leaving a comment in a talk page, sign it. You can do this by inserting four tildes at the end of your comment or by clicking in the Signature with Timestamp button ( ) above the edit field. NOT DONE Keep ED on topic: we only want articles relating to drama, internets, or memes. If you are unsure, please refer to ED:LULZ. NOT DONE Add drama and information as much as possible, when writing up an article. Google and Ljseek are your friends. DONE Don't make an idiot of yourself! Seeing as you are new around here, we don't appreciate a case of severe unwarranted self-importance. If you even think you can handle the production of a new lulz induced article, write it with the greatest care and precision. There is no value in one-sentence articles; make a story of it, use correct formatting, and use your feeling. Of course, it is recommended you DONE start out with minor edits to existing articles. ? ??? ? ED is not NPOV. We don't ever want to see an edit that can be summarized as 'reduce bias'. Ever. DONE Add no new categories. The existing ones work just fine, thank you very much.
NO ARTICLES Assign categories to your articles. If you don't, they might be marked "" (oh noes!)
DONE Preview before saving. Before saving your changes, hit "Show preview" if you're unsure of formatting or how the page will look after you're done editing. That way, if you change your mind or notice a mistake, the article's history won't be filled with your multiple edits. Several consecutive edits are generally frowned upon unless you're making major changes to an article. Try to avoid it if you can or you will get
