Thanks, and same to you. That baleetion and revision wouldn't have been done without you, and I've told ODB as much. I don't know if this is exactly your thing or not, so if you want to drop out, that's cool, but we could still keep polishing the article for another revision next month (or whenever). Also, we need to do something with the no black people on the internet article; again, if that's not your thing I'll do something with it eventually.

Finally, do you have any feedback to offer about this: User:Jasper/Template:Test? The content is definitely there, and needs to be unified. Current policy is . . . large and vaporous. Most things in the ED: and Encyclopedia_Dramatica: user spaces are policy in one way or another. Right now I'm trying to sort out what we have. See User:Jasper/ED. If you want to help out with that, great. If things go according to my plan (things can definitely change) once we have things sorted, we'll start pulling out high points to produce new bionic policy pages. Make sense? Next: I'd like to establish as close to a 1:1 relationship between the number of policy categories and number of policy pages as possible.

I'm going to look at the categories you set up, but I think they're basically fine.
Then I'll start making subpages for each category.
Then we should go through each page and list the parts we like on the appropriate subpage, crossing the page out when we're done.
Once we've gone through all the pages and we have a good list of scraps, we'll start trying to merge them into good, new policy pages.

I want to condense, as much as possible, the Plz to be Reading and Rules/Policies page. I don't mean merging pages, but I want to produce concise, on-topic copy.
Legal isn't really our area, but we need to read through it and make sure there's nothing stupid there.
Policy is obviously a major emphasis for us. I think a lot of that needs to be flatly rewritten because I think it conveys the wrong message. Basically, I want to try to clearly express the fine line (satire) that ED walks between reality and absurdism, and to similarly make clear that lulz does not equal lol.

Really? I just assumed you knew what you were doing. ;D I liked your Zoidberg template - I think it'd work great as The {{{1|music}}} is bad and you should feel bad. Anyway - in general, I like the idea of the cats template, but the problem is that practically everything there is already part of a chan template or the animals template. Therefore, I'm kind of inclined to say no.

In terms of how it looks, you've basically got it figured out. If you're going to keep making them, I suggest starting as simply as possible, and then adding the collapsing/morphing stuff later.

Most of the templates basically use tables. The only time that tables really get tricky is when you start trying to use colspan or rowspan to merge cells a lot, and if you're not careful you can really frustrate yourself as a beginner. I think that there's a couple hundred people on the mailing list, but it's the usual phenomenon where no particular person feels they need to respond, since they think someone else will come along and respond. I support what you're trying to do. In all honesty, nigger used to be one of my favorite articles back in the day (when it was still offensive but also less than 75 pages long). I'd love to see it recreated as a good article. I'll stop by the page sometime today and probably make some changes - if you don't mind, that is.

Some suggestions would be to make sure it doesn't get too repetitive. Racial slurs/insults/offensive language can be funny, but when repeated and beaten into the ground, they ceas to retain their sting and just become lazy and unfunny. Having a long page is fine as long as everything in it is necessary, fresh, and well-written. Try to weed out the stupid sections and sentences (I see you've already done this a good bit).

I was also considering rewriting the article as an experimental study on a species of animals; that way, it could still be offensive, but could also be different and appear kind of intelligent. I've also considered making two separate articles for "nigga" and "nigger." Anyway, we'll see how simply trimming the old article works for now. ~ Endedrural _(talk) 16:32, 14 May 2009 (CDT)

I hate hate hate that fucking template. I've tried to get it blanked and/or deleted in the past and it was a no go. I will discuss it with some other sysops if I run into them, but I think the verdict is probably a no. However, if you see a remotely shitty use of it, delete it. You're a trusted user and we know that you know what is and isn't funny.

Endedrural passed along the link earlier and, as I said, you know what is and isn't funny, and you're doing a terrific job ripping the shit out of that article and keeping it funny in all aspects that it could be. It's a sensitive topic among the sysops - not because anyone is offended, but because it's the sort of page that can make or break someone's opinion of the site, since it is such a hot topic and has so many views on a regular basis. I would recommend leaving ODB and Ket (Thedreadedkettle) a link on their talk pages (tell them I told you to if you want) and get some opinions from them.
