THIS IS SERIOUS; READ IT.

Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:

1. New User

Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.

If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. To start you off:

Sign your comments using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page.
These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them.

These tips will hopefully prevent you from getting raeped by the ED admins.

2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.

Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.

Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list and ED IRC. If you need an admin, the list of active ED Sysops will let you know who's around. To chat with or to ask for help from other ED users, then please hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.

If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter. If that's not enough ED for you, feel free to join the all new ED Forums.

template help?

trying to create template

with 2 parameters - for Youtubee video Center Align - the <youtube> has just gone a little ashtray - and default alignment is right now instead of left and the align=left doesnt seem to work.

i tend to use a title on videos and align them center- and a couple of my recent articles went all borked with the changes so i fixed them with the following code... then i thought it would be useful - at least for me to have a quick template that passed two parameters.

i cant think of a better name that "ytcentertitle"

Thanks! I was actually just fixing the collapsing behavior for Jasper, he's the one that designed it and I think it looks great. If you haven't already, take a look at the code. Because IE doesn't enforce max cell height until IE8, I had to do it with 3 floating, inline divs instead of a table. That was the first time I've done that, but I might go back and do some neat things with other templates now. White•Mystery
