I thought the intention of ED was to document internet drama. Just because a participant in the drama uploads it, it's self congratulatory? If you have an objection to the article's subject, rather than to its style, since it is drama, internet related, and lulzy, and therefore well within ED's mandate, I suggest you request an arbchat if you want it deleted. Hey, what's the status on this thing? Have you completely replaced {{4chanarchive}}? (Meaning, have you actually gone through and done that; obviously this template is intended to replace that template). If so, let me know and we'll update the lists and stuff so that people don't use the old one.

  • Hi, I was just wondering which template will be the one that is ultimately used for displaying archived threads. I know there's the old way of doing it, which wasn't really a template, but a bunch of code. It also seems that there's {{archive}} and {{4chanarchive}}. I've been replacing ones that I came across with the {{archive}} template, because it seemed to be the best. However, I don't want to continually use the wrong one, then have to go back and fix them all. I was just curious, cause I was trying to help replace the old ones.

Dear Youtube Czar

Great Work.

I have sent your userspace link around the other admins, and those who have an active interest in the Youtube Category will probable make some small additions. So it should get moved towards the end of next week. I will check with you before i move it, to make sure you have finished it, and then you should post it to the user list. If I forget due to my memory deficiencies , please harass me.

Also:

WhiteMystery is planning on building a Youtube Portal so if you can think of how you want the portal broken down, he can start putting it together. He figured there would be the normal stuff like a current article, articles that need help, new articles, a brief introduction to YouTube with a breakdown of all the important groups and themes - and then branch out from there. We could trim the template and the YouTube article itself, because right now it is massive and has too much information packed into a small space. How would you break it down? How would you lay it out? If we get some ideas going, we can have a sample up by the end of the weekend.

Example: TOW's Portal:Scientology

ED's would be a little easier to digest than that wall of text that is really no better than a normal article except for some boxes. However it ends up looking, WhiteMystery wants it to have the feel of the front page, because he thinks a lot of people really like that look and feel and it makes the content easier to digest.

Just wanted to say I like your approach so far and I think that we can do a great deal of improvement with this effort. We are pretty much on the same train of thought regarding what needs to go on the portal page, but since this project will be your baby, let's get down to the details. Can you e-mail me or upload a sketch to the site of what you would want it to look like? Relatize size and position, color scheme, that sort of thing. Basically, however you feel it would be useful, interesting, and informative, as long as it keeps with the general rounded box theme of the main page.

I agree absolutely that it will be smaller than the Scientology portal. I think we can fit all of the information from the template on there, but maybe we can hide a little of it with collapsing sections so it's not overwhelming. One thing we also need to do is redesign the YouTube series template to something that links to the biggest articles in the series - YouTube, View Fraud, etc. - and then make it static and lock it. That series template is so big and on so many pages that when someone changes it, it temporarily slows the web server to a crawl because it has to rerender that bigass template on so many pages.   • Take your time dude. School is def more important than the youtube series! Besides, with roundbox and some tables, we can have the thing up super fast. White•Mystery
  • Here is what I'm thinking as a proof of concept for the new series template: User:WhiteMystery/ytseries. Nothing is set in stone yet, but I think people would find that a lot more useful than a template with a bunch of random people. White•Mystery

  • Also, new roundbox template names. Roundbox has no title bar. Roundboxt does. I converted the stuff in your portal page to Roundboxt but you can now make boxes without title bars, which might be nice for a big, centered thing at the top of the page. Looks good, but you're gonna have to tell me how it's going to be maintained. Lizziey called her workplace and made false complaints, her boss didn't want to deal with it and eventually just got rid of her for it, now it's pretty much too late to do anything. Instead of my wife flipping out about it, she had a conversation with her about something else (Christian-related stuff), and now she is here on ED vandalizing her page, putting up complete bullshit about my wife and claiming she's done things she hasn't done, so on and so forth. I edit my wife's page because my wife is in a position where if her page was discovered, it would ruin her career. She pulled some BS a long time ago, but she hasn't done anything since the first mess on that page, besides getting LJUS shut down because they kept posting my parent's information (where he worked, his full name, where he lives which is a parsonage, again, my father's career could be ruined by LJUS). She is now trying to add crap to the article bringing me and my parents into it again. I am reverting the page back to reflect what actually happened last week, with links to the actual "drama" (and I put "drama" in quotes because my wife said all of five things to her and stopped replying). You can read the entire thing in my reverts.

I understand that this is satirical, but I also understand that if her article shows that she's still causing drama on the scale that she used to (which she is not), she can lose her seat at seminary and it could ruin her career. I am here to keep her article reflecting the truth about what she had engaged in. She knows where she messed up, but this other girl just keeps making up stuff and claiming it's her to add to her article. You can see in her reverts that she has absolutely no proof (my reverts do), and it's all just BS.

Long story short, Lizziey was pwnd (by many more people than just my wife), she's now butthurt, vandalizing my wife's article, and I'm keeping it updated with the facts. Don't know if I'll get banned for it, but dammit, my wife is trying like hell to make a life for herself and keep the things she enjoys doing, and this deadbeat is making it so she will have to virtually fall off of the Internet completely in order to do that, and I don't find that that's right. I'm trying to protect my wife. I apologize if it's been a big mess on your end, I am just losing patience in the entire matter. I don't care, and neither does she, if what's she actually done is posted up here, but the things that are false shouldn't be here so long as her picture is on the article and it can be directly linked to her IRL. TBH, if her picture could be removed from the article, I wouldn't care at all what's posted on it.

To enlighten you, the article you're whining about was a shit stub written by a user who had already written several shitty articles before leaving ED in a bawwfest. It's unclear how it even remained. The article only survived from exploiting a meme, it was asinine and unfunny. I do not delete shit on a whim. It was the equivalent of a forced meme and was garbage. Therefore it was deleted.

I also don't really give a fuck about your opinion on it in the first place.
