Portal Update
- Went through the entire new pages list, added Dancing-in-fire, zeldalink76, Grail-shadowblade, Edward-chans-girl, SinfulSecret Cs-chan to tartlet portal list.
- I cant edit departments, but I'd like to bring up the possibility of putting Overpaint and Smudge_painting in with related faggotry along side tracing. Unfortunately, both articles are very short, so at this point Im not sure of theyre worth adding yet. But both are common techniques on DA and show potential to be lulzy articles.
- Began going through exisitng articles adding template (gravnar, zeldalink76, Grail-shadowblade, edward-chans-girl)
- Made some organizational edits to Abigaille article and added it GNA. It's got alot of lulz already and some potential.
- Leoantepard...... Im not what to make of this article. It's not a tartlet... but it's not really a department either. Help?
- If you have a minute, I'd appreciate some clarification on this. I marked a couple articles for deletion the other day. ChareD and Cgad. ChareD's author contacted me and agreed it was a terrible article, she deleted it herself. Cgad hasnt been worked on in a year. The article seems to be some kind of poorly written attack against a group of tartlets, with at least 4 tartlets equally featured. Cgad herself seems to have left DA over a year ago. I posted this article in BNA, but there seems to be no interest in anyone working on it, or taking it over. Will articles like this tagged for deletion be deleted automatically after a certain period of time?
- On a similar note, many of the new DA articles I found in the new section seem to consist merely of poorly written vendettas against the tartlet. (in some cases...BAWWWW... I DIDNT LIKE THEIR ART... ) While it may be true that these tartlets are potential wellsprings of lulz, the paltry amount of drama in most of these articles makes me very skeptical. I can put these new articles on the BNA list, but I feel that many just need a baleetzplz notice. Any feedback on this is appreciated

- To clarify, by adding it to portal subpages, you mean adding it to the BNA (or is there some seperate area for Un-salvageable artlcles)? Icould be wrong, but, I was under the impression that BNA consists of articles that have substantial LULZ potential but are poorly written or poorly researched or need work in some fashion. Thus the purpose of putting them in BNA was to attract people to improve them. Should Exhibit B articles still be put in BNA?
I generally keep a log of my work, If it would help, I can build a list of articles suggested for deletion (with a brief write up of the reason)and add to it when ever I see one.
- I also added Portal:DeviantART/Neededto the portal page. Is that okay?

It really isnt my place to say anything about the other users, but I wanted to give you a heads up on this admittedly bizarre situation. A few days ago I chanced on Snowangel1994. It was a terrible article about another tracer, I tagged it with {[shit]} and outlined somethings that could be done to improve the article on the discussion page.(ie moar drama. style..etc) The user behind the article talked to me, and seem to have a hard time understanding that exhibit_b articles were frowned upon. Looking through their history, it seems that this prolific author has a number of articles written, all of them range from blatantly to mildly Exhibit_b. Bizarrely, instead of opting to remain Anon, the author take every opportunity to link her own DA account in almost every article she edits, even using her own art as quality comparisons.
Are all of these articles some kind of ploy to get pageviews ?

- Went through new pages again, added and tagged things. I did finish going through the needed list. Removed dead tartlets, banned tartlets, a small non-notable group (3 members), and a few non DA related article requests.
I see that some of the articles on the tagged page have been removed. Should I remove the entries for these to keep the page clean? Or should I leave them there for archival purposes?
Sparkledogs is huge right now, and has been building increasing momentum on DA. I think it's appropriate to feature this article or at least the art at some point. But the article needs some work, so I put it in BNA. Hopefully, it can get up to speed soon, and will make a great feature.

- Okay, I cleaned the deleted entries off the "Tagged" page. I wasnt sure if this has been featured before since it's a fairly old article. I dont recall Teruchan being featured previously. Granted it's not a new article, but it's a classic that is still very much alive, and drama is being generated on a daily basis. This article inspires a genuine sense of morbid fascination, like observing a derailing passenger train at full speed. The vigilant Ediots behind this article as well as Teruchan's unabashed pedophilia has made this article one of the best the Portal has to offer. Consider for future feature?
- Also,In terms of featured art, Im not sure if people who dont yet have articles can be featured. Ive seen Jidane on the suggested articles list. She does some pretty sick kingdom hearts fanart. It's got some good shock value, questionable since she dosent have an article.

There are a number of articles tagged as DA articles that only harbor a tenous connection with Deviantart. For example, the article SpleeNfat mentions DA once in passing, and FireGoron does not even have a DA account.
There are a handful of articles like this, and while these people occasionally have DA accounts, the mainstay of their drama stems from other sites, and links to their DA account are often added as supplemental documentation.
Should these people remain on the DA Portal List or should they retagged into the respective portals, such as Youtube, livejournal, and Furfaggotry?
- A few articles tagged as "Two weeks to live" have remained unchanged after two weeks. Should these be retagged as "Delete" ?

- Thanks for your reply, Ive retagged the following articles for deletion coupled with the following reasons.
- Akane Remains unchanged and has been abandoned with now new updates since december 2007. Tartlet draws Yaoi.... writes some fanfiction. That's it.
- Charles-wolfman Remains unchanged. Previously, I had given it 2 weeks in BNA, but no one wants to add to it. Currently, it's just a few chat logs and random quotes an links.
- Metromurcia Killhamster tagged this article. While 2-3 edits have been made since 2 weeks ago, it remains largely unchanged. This article consists entirely of 3rd person anecdotal ranting about the faggotry of this tartlet, and no evidence or screencaps of drama is provided. No links to drama are provided, instead, a bunch of random unrelated statistics are given "Teenagers usually begin dating in groups around age 14 and as couples at age 18."
- Snowangel1994 was made by the SSP user and still revolves solely around a girl who traces after two weeks. Ive talked to the article creator about adding drama beyond tracing, but apparently tracing = Lulz to her. In two weeks, this users has been heavily trolled, but no drama beyond "OMG you traced" has been generated.
- A few weeks ago, I talked to you about a user (MAGICALMELONBALL aka ARCHRIVAL on ED.) that was creating ED articles for SSP, and you had asked that I tag all of the SSP articles for scrutiny. Ive completed this and linked them below.
- InSaNe-REYNARD is an established article that has been given an SSP section linking to MagicalMelonBall's DA gallery: http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/InSaNe-REYNARD#InSaNe-REYNARD_vs_MagicalMelonBall

MagicalMelonball, has also posted a link in the section to her own DA journal, urging users to read moar there. Similarly, the same journal refers back to the self created ED article praising it's truthiness. (Scroll to end of journal for link.)
- Aio-nlinks MagicalMelonBall's gallery twice in the body of it's text, and mentions MagicalMelonBall in nearly every section. The article details some petty bickering with someone she despises IRL.
- Snowangel1994has already been tagged and is now being replaced with the delete tag. It too links MagicalMelonBall's gallery.
I have tagged the articles created by MagicalMelonBall, Established Articles with significant SSP sections should consider removal of said sections if appropriate.
Ive also also c&p'ed this into the tagged articles list for documentation. Please advise.

Portal Czar
I really wasn't expecting this, when I came on as volunteer. I was really just hoping to help out with upkeep of the portal and the DA section. Thank you so much. It's really an honor.
- I'm thankful for the honor, but harbor slight reservations on the work.
What additional responsibilities does being a portal Czar entail? Is there anything else I should be familiar with in this role?
- I'm currently switching out new features and DD every 5 days. Im hoping that this will give casual visitors a chance to read the featured article before it's changed. Do you feel this time span is appropriate, or should I change more often?

- Thanks for the help once again. I think Im all set with general portal maintenance. A couple other users have been a great help in getting terrible articles tagged for deletion and revision.
- I feel the most involved part as of right now is going through articles and updating them in preparation for the features. I think the central issue is that the best articles tend to be old, as they've had to time to amass lulz as well as gain a group of followers that update them and keep them good. New articles tend not to be good. I picked Zananeichanfor this week. It was a fairly new article with a lot of potential but not much stuff, but with a concentrated effort from User_talk:Zaiger420 pink poodle and a number of others last night, we were able to bring up the quality.
In the future, I will make an effort to find and feature newer articles, but will default to a classic if no good new one can be found, or if old articles have documented significant amounts of new drama. Does that sound okay?
- On a unrelated note. The DA main article is suffering from some wiki issues. After several attempts to fix the article have failed, Im not sure where the problem lies. I posted the problem in the DA talk page about a month ago but no one was able to help.

Ive been noticing that most articles in BNA rotate out with out any one actually taking the initiative to improve them.
So I started this page: Portal_Talk:DeviantART/bna to catalog past and present BNA and specific things that can be done to improve them, in hopes of offering a one stop listing of articles that need minor fixes(as the drama is already there.) Similar to the DA tagged page.
Do you feel this is something that will be effective? Should this listing be kept and is this the appropriate place for it ?

Ideas for improving BNA's should go on the article talk pages as that's the best place for them, you could put another section on the DAID Tagged page about BNA's if you wanted though, that might be an idea. I think if there are BNA's that haven't improved considerably after a while, then it might be an idea to think about 2 weeks. You could always take a chance and feature some of them to try and elicit some attention as well. But that's your call.

Possible Article trolling
Recently, Ive seen an increasing number of articles that have undergone additions of large sections that consist entirely of copypasta song lyrics. Largely, these are the theme song from Fresh Prince of Bel Air slightly edited to reference the tartlet in question. Less common but still present are lyrics from other songs from popular artists.
Ive been removing these indiscriminately, as theyre retarded and also adds substantial length to the articles.
Im unsure if it's one person or multiple people making these edits. But I wanted to give you a quick heads up.
I'll let you know if I find out anymore on this.

New Portal?

The {{sex}} template is getting very full, very quickly. Would it need it's own portal? Considering we already have Portal:Faggotry and Portal:Furfaggotry (which would cover gays and bestiality), what would decide what goes into the sex portal?--MudkipsPlz 21:30, 11 October 2008 (CDT)
- The sex template was only recently even created and only just now collapsed and tabbed. I'm not sure about a portal. Organization would be mildly problematic, since the {{portal}} template might be useless for a portal layout that the sex template would require. If you think you want to give it a shot, come up with a layout idea and I'll help if I can.

I'll look over it again at some point, but Metallica has hardly any internets, I mean aside from Napster, the only internet drama I can think of is how the Guitar Hero version of their album sounded better than the actual CD itself. Plus their forums are suppose to be uber fascist or something. Other than that, I'll have to be scraping the barrel by including ytmds and butthurt youtube comments by their retarded fans.
