Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:
- 1. New User
- Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. To start you off:
- Sign your comments using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
- To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page.
- These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them.
- 2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.
Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.
Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list and ED IRC. If you need an admin, the list of active ED Sysops will let you know who's around. To chat with or to ask for help from other ED users, then please hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.
If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter. If that's not enough ED for you, feel free to join the all new ED Forums.

i've seen some of your other work, and it's been pretty good....but that particular zenarcher edit was ghey...saying someone is short ten times is unfunny...please refer to the ED policy on Good Joke:Word Count Ratio...don't take it personal....ilu --subseven 16:34, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Mentioning that he is short five times may seem unfunny, however, repeating a fact that somebody is over sensitive about is always good for the lulz and worth a point each.
- He is short.
- He really hates people entering his chat rooms and not speaking.
- Refuses to stay in or allow men only chat rooms due to his Homophobia.
- He uses his Mustache to hide that fact he has no teeth.
- Karma-Zen Philosophy "balancing act", was only created for the lulz.
- Four of the above facts (which should be worth -1 point, however given that fact=lulz makes them +2 points each) are true, spoken on cam while I was in the room and worthy of lulz, if only in a mocking tone. I stand by my statement that you are Zenarcher protecting you entry.

- look, there's no reason to get all emo about it...unfunny edits happen to everybody...my first page got whacked entirely...it's the nature of a wiki...if you're this sensitive about it, perhaps you should blog or something...it's kind of disturbing how intimately you know good ol' zenarcher...it's almost as if you you used to kick it in his rooms or something...i don't really know why you're so butthurt over this, and quite frankly i don't really care....while you're typing your response to this, please notice the paragraph directly below you...if you cannot find it by yourself, it says "Please note that all contributions to Encyclopedia Dramatica may be edited, altered, or removed by other contributors. Hey, you've made an article about Katers17 that, unfortunately, doesn't meet our current standards. Please keep working on it here. Once you have worked on it, contact a sysop to see if you've improved it enough. If you don't know what to do, here are some tips:
- Do not recreate your article in the main namespace. Work on it here.
- Read ED:LULZ, ED:101, and ED:RR.
- Make it long enough to be worth reading (a few paragraphs, at least).
- Use headings and insert images.
- Link to a few sources. We appreciate embellishments, but frown on outright fabrications.
- Spare a few minutes and take a look at a tutorial written up by one of our seasoned writers. There's some great tips there that'll definitely improve your article making skills.
- If you require assistance beefing up your article, then hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.
