  • Plz do keep an eye out cos I wanna drop in a section on Raidchan chemo. I don't know if you were on Saturday night but it was like Old /b/ circa Xmas 2005. I managed to post a thread about nothing in particular that didn't 404 for over half an hour. I was actually able to post in my own thread from the main page multiple times. It will also add context to this.


Browsers

As for browsers, there is no real 'fix' for the rendering problem across the various platforms. I've fucked around with ED on Firefox, Safari, Opera, Camino and SeaMonkey and each is unique in one way or another.

The blinking problem is common to Safari and Opera whilst Camino, Firefox and SeaMonkey are fine. Without getting tl;dr...I've found editing in Safari is the best all around for formatting because if it looks okay in Safari, it's gonna look okay in all the others. Conversely, Firefox regularly leaves all kinds of overlapping pix etc when viewed with the other browsers (especially Safari). Camino's pretty much the same as Safari (except for the rainbow blinkies) and Opera if somewhere in the middle (the occasional overlap when viewed with Safari). I have no idea about IE because I refuse to use it and Chrome isn't available for Mac so I don't know if that works 'universally'. --ODB - wut? 17:33, 17 December 2008 (CST)

re: Images

Those images weren't linked to any resource, one of them was uploaded purely to deface an article, and two were dupes (though they were in the shitty filename batch.) I only noticed a few after I checked a vandal for socks and discovered he had a few. I figured I may as well clean up a little bit. Twilight Fanfiction By Yours Truly

Bella writhed on the bed in agony, coughing up blood and staring at Edward in horror with her one remaining eye.

"Edward" she pleaded, "please...please don't kill me..."

Tears streamed down her face and into her empty eye socket, sending lightning bolts of pain deep into her skull. Edward only smiled sarcastically and kept chewing her right eyeball, enjoying the succulent morsel.

"Bella, I think it's time you learned what real committment is."

Bella's face turned white, and she began to tremble. "Edward", she pleaded through a chattering jaw, "I love you. Why are you doing this to me?"

Edward only smiled and swallowed her right eyeball, gulping it down like a swig of Diet Coke. He breathed a long, slow sigh of pleasure, and then turned to face her, still smirking at her. "Your eyeball was absolutely delicious, darling. It tasted rather like salmon topped with a bit of melted butter."

Bella only continued to quiver, and began backing away from Edward. "You...do love me, don't you? Please say you love me! Please! I can't live without you..."

Edward only kept smiling and staring at her with a kind of detached amusement. "Oh, don't worry, my love; when I'm done with you, you'll be with me forever."

Bella ventured a half-smile at Edward's remark, though she didn't quite understand what he meant. She would soon find out.

Edward slowly, menacingly walked over to Bella, and drew something large, metallic and sharp from his trenchcoat. As he pulled it from its sheath, Bella realized it was a samurai sword, nearly two feet long and coated with a thin patina of dried blood.

"Edward...what are you going to do with that?" stammered Bella.

"I'm going to make sure we're never, ever apart from one another, ever again." said Edward, a wicked smile playing upon his lips. In a blinding flash of motion, Edward swung the sword at Bella's left arm, severing it cleanly in one stroke. Before Bella could begin screaming from the indescribable agony, Edward made another cut deep into her throat and severed her vocal chords, rendering her blissfully silent for once in her wretched life. What did she understand about being the most gorgeous, breathtakingly beautiful man in all the world? When had she been stalked by dozens of ugly, unworthy humans who loved her only for her beautiful body, other than the beginning, middle and end of every chapter in the Twilight series? The bitch deserved to suffer for her ignorance.

Bella clutched at her throat with her one remaining hand as a fountain of blood sprayed from the open wound like a geyser, her eyes still pleading with Edward to stop, to cradle her in his arms to make her last moments an ecstasy. Edward, sensing her deep and abiding desire for him, plastered his lips over the gaping wound on her throat and began to drink her blood. It was every bit as sweet and delectable as he had imagined. This, he thought to himself, is why he had put up with Bella's whining, bitching and moaning for all these years. He had shouldered her burdens so that this moment might arrive one day, and as the sweet, virgin blood trickled down his throat, it became utterly clear to him that it had been more than worth the wait.

As Bella faded out of consciousness and began to ascend to heaven, Edward whispered loudly in her ear, "I told you we'd never be apart, ever again; I kept my promise." Bella's eyes glazed over with death as she spent her final seconds gazing into her lover-turned-murderer's eyes, comforted in knowing that even in death, she would be a part of Edward forever, and ever, and ever.

Templates

Hey, sorry I've been so out of touch lately. ED's got a good chunk of my attention for the next 3 weeks until I'm on the road again and I have lots of fix between collapsing objects and the bot. But yes, I've seen several series templates acting odd, and especially the two you've mentioned. It looks like a table cell isn't closed somewhere in the case of food. Gaming acts up whenever a picture is floated to the right so I think I need to contain the entire thing in a div that clears both float sides. Overall, though, a lot of the series templates look really bad. I never intended on every series template being made to resemble gaming when I made that first collapsing template... I might do a little redesigning of the template namespace unless I get into reworking the main page. Any thoughts there? WM 04:48, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Slight Technical Problem

This has already been discussed on the TJC but there's an annoying download (http://0.0.0.0/...) which causes the page to freeze. It apparently only happens to people using internet explorer.

The reason I meantion this is because turning JavaScript off seems to stop it - admittedly I'm not sure what the hell we can do about it, but without Javascript you can't view youtube videos. So it may be a problem for those trying to view youtube articles.
