[edit] re:article creation

Not sure what you mean by "request". If you want to create an article just search the title of the article then "create this page" and there you go. I'd encourage you to first start it in your userspace though, whatever you're working on. Check out ED:101 for some tips on article creation.

[edit] re:Admin

Hi again. Yes, anyone can become a sysop. Usually adminship is given based on tenure, contribs, patrolling, fighting vandalism and proven loyalty to the site. It's currently invite only but once someone's been around for a while one of the admins will usually suggest a user fill out an app and send it in for scrutiny. Usually someone will need to have been around at least 6 months for sysop. A word of advice though, sysop is not all glamor and excitement, it comes with responsibilities and inevitably some drama as well. Some people actually prefer to avoid the very monotonous tasks that come with sysop, ie. endless RC patrol and many other maintenance duties that we have to perform to keep the site running. Also, I know you're new but it is usually good practice never to remove messages on another user's talk page, especially an admins. It's no biggie as you didn't really remove anything that mattered, but you did remove someone elses message. It's no biggie just please try to avoid doing that.

[edit] Article creation

You can create a working draft in your userspace if you like, create it in [[user:DevianTART troll/*ARTICLE NAME*]] and you can work on it there without worrying about it being deleted. Then you can hit one of us up when you're done :)

  • Yes, I reverted the user who changed it, thanks for the heads up. Also, when you want to link to a template in the future, use the format {{tname|templatename}} - this lets you pipe to the template without actually pasting the whole fucking thing anywhere. ie. {{fat}}.

[edit] Hello

Special privileges... not that I know of. The only thing I could do is add your name to MysteryBot's/SecurityBot's ignore list, so you can edit without worrying about accidentally pissing the bots off. I know on TOW they often give out partial sysop privileges, such as just giving out checkuser, but as far as I know, we don't do that and I wouldn't have any control over it anyway. If you want, you can fill out a sysop application and I can pass it along to the rest of the admins. However, I think we're pretty good on sysops atm, and there are others ahead of you I believe. But that's not to say you wouldn't be considered in the future.

Also, I deleted that image for you. For future reference, try to give all uploaded files a proper filename. ~ endedrural (talk) 23:44, 13 September 2009 (CDT)

Ok thank you --FuckYou-12334 ( Talk · Contribs) 14:40, 4 October 2008 (CDT)

  • no it's not "annoying", it's just sort of weird that you're changing the timestamps on your comments...anyways the reason why we need you to have a smaller gif is that HUEG gifs cause lag and page loads are already slow as it is. Don't worry about it bro, you're not doing anything wrong =).

I just wanted to say keep up the good work

Nice job marking that template on relevant articles. Keep up the good work! WM 20:55, 2 October 2008 (CDT)

[edit] re: Virus-20

The consensus was to keep the page, but we're trying to crack down on IRL names unless the article is about public figures and the like.

Yeah, you're not really helping, you're kind of just creating red links and stuff for me to clean up. Please leave them unless you are making positive contribs. Thanks again.

[edit] re:block

Yes you were given a short ban by tfo (3 days). You need to learn to stop messing with people's userpages and talk pages. Basically you need to lurk moar so you avoid any shit like that. Please don't alter your past sigs on talk pages as well, that's really annoying. You should probably learn how to sign your sigs properly in the first place. It's not a big deal it's just a warning that you need to learn the ropes a bit more before you go messing with stuff. It expires on the 12th.

[edit] ಠ_ಠ

We watch all, see all, and know all... okay, not really, but I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Like every wiki, recent changes keeps a log of all incoming changes made, so anyone watching it (many of the sysops and other users) can see any edits that are made, and someone will be quick to react if a questionable edit is made. So basically, to answer your question, everything. Other than that, every user can keep a watchlist to see when any changes are made to a page they want to keep an eye on. I usually put any pages I make or rewrite on my watchlist, as well as many pages that are prone to heavy editing/vandalism. Hope that answers your question. ~ endedrural (talk) 02:17, 14 October 2009 (CDT)

[edit] Deputies

Basically, it's users we trust enough to give some admin power to to help run the site, even though we don't necessarily need to expand the sysop team at this point. If you have too few sysops, nothing gets done, but the same happens if you have too many and nobody knows what to do, so this helps alleviate the problem a bit. WM 09:16, 19 October 2008 (CDT)

[edit] ZOMG B&!

It was probably because you edited a bunch of pages in a row with the edit summary "fixing article." It seems harmless, but usually when people say that it's because they're being smartasses and vandalizing shit. Actually, it's a pretty common tagline for vandals. But I can see that you weren't vandalizing anything, but rather helping to fix articles. Who would have thought? I assume that's why you were banned, anyway. You can ask Weatherman yourself if you want. ~ endedrural (talk) 22:56, 24 October 2009 (CDT)

[edit] Rollback

The sysop tool or Rollback+ on the bot? The sysop tool instantly undoes a person's changes to one page. The bot tool is a global undo of all of a person's actions on site. WM 23:28, 30 October 2008 (CDT)

[edit] New Shitposters Users

I dropped the How 2 Edit template on that last guy's talk page (though hostile in intent.) I've done this before to people in kinder ways but honestly I've just been tagging shitpages with {{delete}} and letting people know that they need to cut that shit out rather bluntly.

Some people just need to hear that they're fucking awful sometimes, but I hear what you're saying too. - that shit is so cash 22:00, 2 November 2008 (CST)

  • Well thats true.--FuckYou-12334 ( Talk · Contribs) 22:08, 2 November 2008 (CST)
    • It was also a recreation of an article already flushed minutes before. Regardless, it's gone now, and it's one less person adding stupid shit to the mainspace. No point in sweating the details now.

(also yeah deleting shitpages would be useful) - that shit is so cash 22:15, 2 November 2008 (CST)

[edit] Virus-20

  • Borsch- So that was you that left all of those "fuck you :)" comments? Haha! Nice going, man.

HA HA! ya that was me . --FuckYou-12334 ( Talk · Contribs) 20:35, 27 October 2008 (CDT)

Oh yeah! One more thing. I heard that Virus-20 has a brother, according to a claim made by Cone. Do you know if that's true? If it is, I'm jumping through that window of opportunity. Seriously, Virus-20 has had virtually no opposition against him (maybe because he's not as loud as others). That needs to change soon.

Yes he has a brother [1] --FuckYou-12334 ( Talk · Contribs) 20:35, 27 October 2008 (CDT)

[edit] Rape Man

Good job working to clean things up, but as a general rule of thumb, I try not to delete things that are really old, or at least things that have been here longer than I have. Rape man, for instance has been around since early 05, and documents some early LJ drama. Even though it's a relatively shitty article, it's not really hurting anything and we can afford to let it live. ~ endedrural (talk) 03:16, 4 November 2009 (CDT)

Just one of our repeat vandals, likely using a bot. Nothin to worry about. It just took me a minute to figure out how to get MysteryBot to fix it. ;) ~ endedrural (talk) 00:33, 5 November 2009 (CDT)

Just wondering what I did to make you consider my edit of Fred to be a heaping bucket of fail. Nah, I'm not butthurt, it's just been a rough stretch in the lulz department for me as of late, I guess.
