re:poker

Well actually I mean we mine as well just redirect that page/move it to Online Poker because an Online Poker page has total relevance and internets. I'd say dump your page in Online Poker or Internet Poker (whichever) and then try and salvage whatever you can from Poker -whatevers worth keeping- and then just redirect it to Online Poker. Seriously I mean who really cares about the IRL Poker page in the first place, there's little there anyways. Thing is I could probably write a good chunk of this page with you too if I could find the time, this is a great idea and it has the relevance. A section on sites to avoid would probably be worth tossing in if I can get round to it, there's so much info out there on them, a select few with long histories of shady shit.   • Dude I like this idea you have with overhauling this shit. What I'm thinking is that we disambig Gambling (salvaging whatever we can to put into Online Gambling with what you have already) and redirect Poker to a full page on Online Poker with what you have (and I can totally help with this page too).

I think though that "Online Sports Betting / Online Bingo / Online Blackjack / Online Craps / Online Slot Machines" <-- just put these as sections Online Gambling w/ redirects. We really do not need single pages on these, the umbrella page should be more than enough. We can put anything like this under a subsection of "Online Casinos" or something - which I can totally fill out.

So we'll have 3 pages: Online Gambling, Online Poker and a disambig for Gambling. Does this sound good? All we have to worry bout is incorporating everything into these pages/salvaging what we can from the existing pages (there really isn't much there anyways). But this is the cull I'm thinking of. Downloading Recent Changes

Unfortunately, even the bot interface gives raw HTML - .NET has a built in XML parser that I use to break it down and then process it with regular expressions. It's really ugly and was absolutely the hardest and most unreliable part of getting the bot working. Having said that, there might be two options available. One would be to have the bot generate a text file summary and save it somewhere. The other would be to do something server side. I've worked with MySQL before and it's not too bad - so you could dump the recent changes table out to a text file. Would either of those work? WM 00:34, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

'bad new' portal

When I get some spare time (God, I feel like I'm always saying that lately...) I'll jump on irc and we can have a jam session on making it look good. I think its great for now and really functional. I actually wouldn't mind templatising all the aspects of it, like the other forums, so that tweaks can be made to individual sections rather than the page as a whole. That way we can protect the bits that we don't want altered and keep some sections open for all to edit.
