Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:

1. New User

Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.

If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. To start you off:

• Sign your comments using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
• To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page.
• These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them.

These tips will hopefully prevent you from getting raeped by the ED admins.

2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.

Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.

Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list and ED IRC. If you need an admin, the list of active ED Sysops will let you know who's around. To chat with or to ask for help from other ED users, then please hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.

If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter. If that's not enough ED for you, feel free to join the all new ED Forums.

THXU, this are relevant to my interests. Anything you need to categorize that belongs on this site fits into an existing category. Your idea is better suited to a template series, but if you look throught the list of templates you'll probably see a lot of overlap between your idea and other templates. White•Mystery

• I reverted it back, it's a complete mess and needed to be cleaned up. If you're not willing to add the important youtubers you feel are left out to this template yourself then you should just leave it as is. re:YT protection

Yes, unfortunately the article is consistantly one of the biggest magnets for faggotry on the entire site. Since so few additions or modifications to the article prove to actually add anything to the article, and since the article isn't in need of anything for the most part, it's protected. Did you want to add something? DCY

• Right, well what I'll do is if you think you can improve it, I'll unlock it and you can give it a go. When you're done, lmk and I'll lock it again. If I or another sysop end up changing your edits or you get reverted though, do not take it personally, srsly. We really don't want anyone trimming anything significant from that article. It's possible that it could have some major changes, but tossing that idea around with a few people first would be a good way to initiate changes like that first, ie. the talk page as that facilitates discussion and gets people's opinions etc. A lot of the bigger articles, ie. Web 2.0, are already basically complete or finished as they are. When big changes happen in relation to the topic or there's some news, then additions are made accordingly to those articles, but short of that we try and keep them succinct and unchanging in terms of the main content, ie. LiveJournal, Wikipedia, DA, etc. We need to keep that article in good shape k. DCY

Important message for any adminstrators of the Encyclopedia Dramatica that may look at this userpage, or any other editors with influence with ED. I'm begging you to please delete the page about me in your website. I'm not some famous celeb, or a high-profile internet user. I am a private citizen who joined wikipedia almost five years ago to help with the sports articles, and was planning to edit slighly here and there. Unfortunally, I became addicted to this webite, and was immature (being only a high-school student then, and I prefered wikipedia rather than myspace). I did something stuff here that I now regret, and now I lost the addiction to wikipedia politics, though I'm planning to be active again with articles. I am a student about to enter my junior year in college, and I mostly move on from. The issue here is that two or so years ago, an article was written about me on your site. It was created by JaraxleArmixtis (under the name Lulzercaust) over two years ago as revenge for helping cause his banishment from wikipedia. It's been expanded to almost 30 GB of text and filled with libel statements and highly personal info. I'm begging you to delete the article. It's been for the worst harm for me and my family. I was harrassed out of facebook a few months ago, and I recently was denied a high-profile job because the interviewer discovered that page existed, and thought I was immature for the job. I'm afraid that this page will do even more harm in the near future. With the job, it was the final straw. My family lawyers and even the FBI has been aware of that page for quite sometime and they are willing to do a lawsuit for defamation of character. I been holding it off, knowing wikipolitics for a while, and asking everyone I knew, even Wikipedia Review, but now it seems like I don't have a choice. Before I do that, I'm asking you to please remove everything personal about me, my name, my pic, ebay, email, etc from the history and article, or just delete it upright. Again I am a private citizen and the ED page caused great harm for me. So please respect my privatcy. I'll apologize for anything I done on wiki. Thanks
