User talk:Malber
From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Hello, Malber
THIS IS SERIOUS; READ IT.
Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:
- 1. New User
- Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly.
- 2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.
Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.
Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list.
If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace and the ED Bebo.
Malber! I never thought you'd come here. Samsara 00:18, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Survey
Hi, I'm conducting a survey. Could you answer this please?
WHY DO WIKIPEDIA ADMINS THINK THEY CAN
COME HERE AND HAND OUT ORDERS, AND THEN ACT SHOCKED AND DISMAYED WHEN NO ONE GIVES A SHIT?
Thanks! Miltopia 20:26, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Okay I made a poll
Yes you win, no you lose.

I actually can't unban you anyway. But I can request for you to be unbanned, and hope that they don't tell me to go to hell. Blissyu2 16:44, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
I also can't undo the IP ban. But I added the request.
Currently it is 1/4/1/2.
1 yes, 4 no, 1 maybe if certain conditions are met, 2 unsure.
If it gets over 50%, you'll be let back in. As for simply viewing, that is up to Somey I think. He may let you view by itself. Blissyu2 17:25, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
1/6/1/2 now. After we've figured out whether to let you back in, we'll make a separate decision whether to let you view (if you're back in, of course you get to view, but if not we'll have a separate admin-only discussion about letting you view).
Oh and a few people said that they wanted you to retract certain comments. Blissyu2 17:31, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
3/9/3/3. I am pretty confident that you weren't banned solely for having a penis picture.
The current argument is that you might be allowed back in in a limited capacity, to comment on GFDL, SlimVirgin, and anything else, and then if you seem to be going well then let you back in properly.
Wikipedia Review decided a while ago that it's allowed to be hypocritical, and that criticism of Wikipedia Review is not related to Wikipedia Review's criticism of Wikipedia. You are of course free to criticise Wikipedia Review, naturally. There's a sub forum Wikipedia Review Review for such criticisms.
And I think you'll find that most people on Wikipedia Review quite like the idea of polls, and like that aspect of Wikipedia. As for you not being allowed to vote, well, of course not, you're banned.
You can make some comments here and I'll pass them on though.

4/10/3/3, 4 pages of comments. Most highly debated topic on Wikipedia Review for ages. You can probably see Wikipedia Review through google cache, or the lofi version if you want to see it. That's what Grace Note does. By the looks of this, our entire user base of 400 will end up commenting/voting on this one, so there's still some chance. And some people have changed their votes too. In effect its 7/10, so not too far off 50%, but if its 50% counting the "maybes" then you'll be in the tar pit only for a while. Blissyu2 19:12, 19 August 2007 (CDT)
