Welcome to Encyclopedia Dramatica! ED isn't like other unfunny wikis out there. Here are a few hints/ironclad rules we'd like to give you. Follow them and we won't have to drop the ban hammer on your ass.
- Read, dummy! Read at least 100 articles before you create one.
- Be internets funny. ED is a repository for internet humor. While everything is tangentially related to teh interwebs, we'd like to keep specifically on topic.
- Be dramatic. Include any and all internet drama related to your article. Links and incriminating pix encouraged!
- Don't make an idiot of yourself! Seeing as you are new around here, we don't appreciate a case of severe unwarranted self-importance. If you even think you can handle the production of a new lulz induced article, write it with the greatest care and precision. There is no use in one sentenced articles, make a story of it, use correct formatting, and use your feeling. Though it is recommended to start out with minor edits to other articles.
- Add no new categories. The existing ones work just fine, thank you very much.
- Don't use real names. Real names only get people into real trouble, so unless they're legitimately famous for things like being on television or killing their mother, use their e-name.
- Assign categories to your articles. If you don't, they might be marked "{{crap}}" (oh noes!)
- Promote the site to your friends and enemies. ED Banners are available for your use, or make your own.
- Sign comments in Talk pages. If you're leaving a comment in a talk page, sign it. You can do this by inserting four tildes at the end of your comment or by clicking in the Signature with Timestamp button ( http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/stylesheets/images/button_sig.png ) above the edit field.
- Preview before saving. Always hit "Show preview" after you're done editing instead of saving right away. That way, if you change your mind or notice a mistake, the article's history won't be filled with your multiple edits. Several consecutive edits are generally frowned upon, unless you're doing major changes to an article. Try to avoid it if you can.
- Do not write any articles about Chuck Norris. Or re-create any other crap articles that have been deleted, for that matter.

If you are trying to save your wikipedia profile here, it is both inappropriate and unnecessary. Your entire wikipedia profile is still available. If you ever get unbanned, you can simply revert to your preferred version. --Jacknstock 04:51, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

- They really delete it? Anyway, as you say, it can be saved as a text file rather than as a rambling, nonsensical user page here. I just think that this wiki should not be used as an archive for another wiki. --Jacknstock 05:01, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Check things to revert. This isn't Wikipedia's Mistress Selina Kyle - this was simply Grace Note creating an account for the purpose of being a trolling ass. No legit contributions from this account. He took off after his "contributions" were reverted and he was outed (in a sense). --Blu Aardvark 07:43, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
