Hello, NotTomSerson

THIS IS SERIOUS; READ IT.

Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:

1. New User
Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. To start you off:

  • Sign your comments using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
  • To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page.
  • These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them.
These tips will hopefully prevent you from getting raeped by the ED admins.

2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.

Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.

Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list and ED IRC. If you need an admin, the list of active ED Sysops will let you know who's around. To chat with or to ask for help from other ED users, then please hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.

If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter. If that's not enough ED for you, feel free to join the all new ED Forums.

Hey, welcome to Encyclopedia Dramatica. As you've found out, ED is a wiki, meaning anyone can sign up to edit the articles, adding or deleting content. When you go to articles and delete a bunch of the content, it's called vandalism. The thing is, vandalism is completely pointless (click here to find out why), and will get you a swift ban, so you might as well stop. Read your welcome message to find out how to better enjoy editing ED.

(wha?)

Don't make shitty stub articles like that, they just waste bandwidth and have no purpose here. I would recommend (actually just do it) making your article in your userspace first (example: User:NotTomSerson/Erik the Midget) and add pics and info, before putting it on the mainspace. Also read the page in that template, it really does help, trust me. Crazyconan Wanna chat? 04:02, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

  • Yes, we actually already have an Eric the Midget page, Tom. Please use your userspace if you want to start articles and give ED:101 a read first before you even do that thx

  • lrn2wiki and I wouldn't have to.

bans

Look if you want to contribute this is cool and I encourage you to, but if you're going to hang around you're going to have to learn to be less of a douche alright. Being a prick is only going to get you banned and I'm not going to unban you again.
