Anyway, it looked like you were a vandal since you were making new pages with no content aside from a category and adding the same template to a bunch of redirect pages.   • Custom sigs? Sure. k lemme see if I can remember this shit right, what I think you need to do for a custom sig is click "Raw signatures" box under the "user profile" tab in my preferences. And then you include all the formatting for your sig in the "Nickname" box. As for the formatting and what you want, well that's totally up to you =) Some people choose to do it with a combination of subpages, you can create a subpage like User:Penni-piper/sig to mess around with the formatting that you are going to copypaste into the "Nickname" box for your sig if you like. If you need any other help lmk.

  • No, don't worry about it, I know you were trying to clean stuff up and help. The archives though, are a manor of historical record (sort of) and shouldn't really be messed with. Actually, I'm not really sure how those remained unprotected that long so it had to be done anyways, regardless. You just have to exercise judgement when you change anything, like typically speaking, anything archived is something you don't want to mess with. If you're going to tackle cleaning up needed pages I guess that page could use a little cleaning up. If you take a look at Portal:YouTube/needed that's how a needed list should generally be structured but we've let the main page get pretty dirty. Don't worry at all, srsly, nothing to apologize for, I can tell you're only trying to help and we're all a little lost when we're newer. Also, don't worry there's shitloads to do round here and you'll never run out of stuff to do, we can always use more RC patrollers of course, and any help with fighting faggotry in general is always appreciated, trust me on that one <3

No don't worry you're not bothering me =) Any broken links that show up as red links on archived pages, or on talk pages, or other pages, don't really need be fixed. I wouldn't worry about it.

We're more worried about articles having red links. If you were to fix thos this would be a much better use of your time. In fact, if you're looking for stuff to do here's some suggestions:

  1. Uncategorized articles - Categorize any uncategorized articles with the appropriate categories.
  2. Orphanized articles - These are articles which don't link to anything, what you can do is go round and link articles TO these pages. But please do so responsibly, we don't want irrelevant links to these pages (ie. in the See Also sections, or wherever) that have nothing to do with them.
  3. Double redirects - You could help fix these but WM's Mysterybot basically already fixes all these immediately, so you probably won't find any.

If you're looking for some other stuff to maintain, I'd suggest checking out {{opentasks}} as well. Also, if you're not on the mailing list you should go ahead and join. And hey, like I said, patrolling Recent Changes for faggotry and vandalism is always very much appreciated. And if you find any users that that haven't been caught for vandalizing you can leave a note on any of the active sysops talk pages (Just fyi, there are several sysops who aren't really active that much, usually checking RC will tell you who's active on site or not just by the edit histories).

Also, this page that you made should be for you to tinker around with your signature, so if you want you can toy around with that there and come up with something really cool for your sig.

Anyway, I don't think people are ever going to come to a consensus on that article, so just go for what's funny. Even if something's misogynistic or feminist, it won't really matter much if it's well written and humorous. Anyway, I'm starting to ramble. I looked over your edits, and I think they're actually pretty funny. However, try not to overwrite so much of the existing stuff if at all possible. O hai :) Right, well if you have got the configuration of your user:Penni-piper/sig and your user:Penni-piper/autosig pages correct and your preferences set right then all you need to do is type 4 tildes to get your sig. You can also transclude your sig (I think this is what you meant) and not paste the entire text every time if you want as well, although there's nothing wrong with doing that, (lol some people's sigs are HUEG). If you want to transclude instead of leaving the text just type "{{user:Penni-piper/sig}}" after your comments instead of 4 tildes and then it will function the same way a template does. Either way is fine though =) DCY

template issue on tl;dr

I cant understand it too. at the preview (editing only the last section) everything was OK, the template worked. but asap i saved it, and viewed the page in "read mode", there was a "nowiki" like text in the templates place (this: {{Language}}). that's why I removed it. it seems that the page is soo tl;dr (over 200 kb), that the parser cant wikify it correctly. maybe.

I work 5pm-5am, so yeah I don't sleep at all. I'm EST right now and it's 8:30am, I should probably go to bed but honestly I don't see that happening for a while so I'm not even going to try right now :D And yeah that was the second day in a row that we got hit with those bots. Slot your sections into that and you'll have yourself a basic working expanding table (it's based on the table I conjured up for the MySpace article). I was indeed able to fix the morphing content (despite being less well-versed in it than collapsing content), and now everything seems to be in working order. As it turns out, you can use thumbnail images within the morphing content area, as you can see on the page. I filled in a placeholder for your "black metal" content, because you had nothing filled in for that spot when I copied the template onto the new page. If you want, I can tell you what I did specifically to make it work, or you can just copypasta the template into whatever page you wanted to use it on.     • Oh, also, you said you liked the rounded corners for content edges — if you want to know how to create rounded corners on objects, I can show you. It's really not very difficult once you know how, but I have to tell you that it only works on Firefox and Safari, because the other browsers (namely, IE) are so far behind on very basic internet style standards that they are incapable of rendering the curve itself. It's my first article and I just typed it and then was going to slowly edit it to look normal because I am too lazy to read the how to sections. Hence why this will probably look retarded.   • In response, the articles are very similar, even if a Code and a Program are not the same thing. Things really could be condensed. Coding says it's programming indirectly.... "real men preferring to work directly in binary". Binary is a programming language. It also references usage of punchcard to give information (the dawn of programming), compilers (used to compress code when programming.) and that Coding creates crappy Applications (much how the Programming article speaks of programming of crappy Applications). That's just from the article itself. Also, since when was something good just because it's old? Being a stub for over a year doesn't look good, neither does the fact that after 2 years I was the first person to bother adding it to any categories.

Gaza War Article

Hey man, I noticed you reverted my edits on the Gaza War article.

I'm not quite sure I agree with your decision...

Ok, both versions tend to score pretty high on the tasteless-meter and the dark humor-meter. Sure.

The reason that I made the changes was that the second original pic... 'cannibal sandnigga bbq', let's face it. sounds overly racist. Better to just go with the original pic that the (same guy, I believe) guy uploaded. Adding the 'it IS chicken' line was just basically continuing to use the same joke as before.

Likewise, for the other original pic... Well, there just doesn't seem to be anything funny. Making a reference to the crusades? By itself, where's the humor in that? So, by adding the second pic, (this one i DID upload. not the others), i replaced the former one which just didn't seem funny, and tried to further accentuate the joke.

Tell you what -- I'm not going to un-do your revert. Definitely not in the near future. Rather, maybe you could share with me your own thoughts or un-do the revert yourself if you see things from my P.O.V. --AlphaFactor 15:03, 31 January 2009 (CST)

That's not the reason I removed the pics. I removed them because they were... not that good. In there place, I happened to insert in those other two.
I didn't remove the first two and then insert in the latter two because I was seeking to replace them per se.
Rather, I was doing separate steps.
Step1, removing the two pictures that weren't so good.
Step2, inserting the two pictures which seemed to convey a humorous premise a bit better.
