Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:

1. New User
Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly.


2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.


Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.


Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list.

    • hmm. and -> jef42(?), it's not the time I put in the writing that matters, that time is wasted anyway. It's true that in wiki you can just blank anyone's writing with a click of mouse or two. What I was (unsuccessfully, admitted) trying to say there was that by doing so you make the whole wiki look quite uniform, which is nice in Wikipedia, for example, but if you're trying to create more of a "humorous" wiki here than just informative, you shouldn't compell it to re-tell the same jokes over and over again, which is what banning everyone who doesn't write for example "hi christopher, I think you are a [sick fuck] and should die in hell" after the others will cause. :) Some valuable work time wasted now :) But writing in here is then more like writing in an IRC query, not? It actually almost makes me sad that you pick on those ppl who really want to write in here and get thrashed by the likes of you :/ I mean, they might even really care. Well, we got super page move vandalized. Crayolacrime and Krade are bureaucrats, and ket is a sysop. Krade cleaned up a lot, then I came and helped, then Ket was sysopped and helped, then Riboflavin came and helped. And it looks like someone had too much copypasta, since at least 70% of that articles contents appear two or three times. It's like a vandal and three complete noobs locked in a wikiedit war where they're all fighting over who gets to create the exact same article the other three are trying to create. It is like the hypertext equivalent of goatse, it hurts so much to look at. And the div tags don't help either.
