User talk:StarDrifter
From Encyclopedia Dramatica
Hello, StarDrifter
THIS IS SERIOUS; READ IT.
Congratulations on joining ED! You probably fit into one of these categories:
- 1. New User
- Before making your first article look over ED:101. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page. To start with, make multiple small edits to different articles until you have the hang of it. If you don't, it is unlikely that your article will survive for more than sixty seconds and you risk being molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know anything about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. To start you off:
- Sign your comments using four tildes (like this ~~~~)
- To answer a message, reply on the user's talk page.
- These are the sysops. If you have a problem, talk to them.
- 2. Mediawiki Migrant If you're an experienced wiki user (probably from a Wikipedia offshoot) who knows how to operate, please read ED:101 for offical policy and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and basic rules.
Whichever you are, to successfully contribute to ED, please take some time to look around, note why other people get banned and don't act like they did.
Communication with other users prevents misunderstandings and can be done through talk pages, TJC and the mailing list and ED IRC. If you need an admin, the list of active ED Sysops will let you know who's around. To chat with or to ask for help from other ED users, then please hit up the experts in #wiki on our IRC.
If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map and join the ED Facebook, the ED Myspace the ED Bebo and follow the ED Twitter. If that's not enough ED for you, feel free to join the all new ED Forums.

Thanks.
This n00b will STFU for a bit
I have been lurking for some time, but I'll keep surfing around and/or hitting the random page button until I get a better feel before trying to contribute again.
In this case, the SJ Games page was asked for on the "Needed" page, as it relates to the Hacker Crackdown. I had hoped to at least put up a start, being both a reformed roleplayer and living ~11 miles from their office. Which really is a powder blue warehouse hidden away behind some trees down the street from the Whataburger. (It wouldn't be hard to prove this with a Mapquest link.)
Um, anyway, I'll lurk and wait until both conditions are met: (1) more well versed with the site (2) capable of putting something funny when creating or editing. The only exception to this may be putting the SJ Games page in a category, but no changes to text.
On that note, I'm feeling lost as far as categorizing it. It relates to roleplaying, but is there to fill in some information on the Hacker Crackdown needed material. I guess Abnormal Psyche as one (as it relates to roleplayers?), with Internet Phenomina / Law as the other? (edit: no, this would be a very wrong place after looking that category over.)
Thank you again.
- Category:Fandom Stuff. Also, don't worry, no one has a clue about what they're doing around here. Most of us are just making shit up as we go. ~ Krade 01:49, 20 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- You won't be completely accepted here until you've been banned at least once. It's a rite of passage. --Banbot talk to Banbot 03:08, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
t's so passe. I banned myself last month. Before that, SchmuckyTheCat banned me in March. --Banbot talk to Banbot 03:22, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- yeah, but i banned myself for SCIENCE!!! --kh/ what 03:32, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- I banned myself for lulz. That's gotta beat science. However,Krade trumped us both. He's still triple banned. --Banbot talk to Banbot 03:36, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, I totally owned with my mad 4 AM proxy hax0ring skillz and a degree in Internetz science. Those three extra bans are the proof that I shouldn't edit ED at 5 AM. Well, chances are that Josephthelover will beat my record, but you can only get accepted if you're actually unbanned, so it doesn't count. ~ Krade 17:20, 26 Jul 2005 (UTC)

I fucking hate that mediawiki needs to distinguish between Pain series and Pain Series! Nice catch. Tfo 01:21, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Nice work!

- Thanks! Seeing that my contributions helped that article make the front page was a warm feeling, not unlike getting huggles from at least 100 fatties. --StarDrifter 03:03, 7 Jan 2006 (UTC)
*morehuggles* I bow before you, oh creator of my article. It is the best thing I've seen on the internets all month. I added some of my history but I can't bear to touch the main description, just too damn funny. --The real eris 16:48, 28 Feb 2006 (UTC)
