• Hey Ket, some of them have the dates, back in August anyway, just after the Wikiabuse debacle if I recall correctly. None of these pages exist any more for non-members, of course (since August) ... Hey! Just reading the new screen-shots. That Blissyu is a trippy character. When started his articles some months ago he kept saying "I'm really sick, I'm hallucinating, I'm extremely high on codeine," etc. He would ask me to delete pages he had just written, saying how much he hates ED, and why is he forcing himself to write these articles, etc., and then he would start them again. Yet he has a friendly attitude about ED (I love the discussion where an unaware wikipedo complains that the piece is 30% true and omits londoneye, and Blissyu pipes up "oh yeah I forgot londoneye). He is also a sort of expert on the Port Arthur shootings, which is indeed a bizarre and unresolved event. I wish he would carry on with that piece, though maybe ED isn't really the place for it.

Video Professor specializes in giving out shit software to teach you how to use a computer and then doing a fuck ton of bullshit to keep you paying. The software itself requires computer skills to use and is less useful in teaching you how to use a computer than a martial arts video is at teaching you to be Bruce Lee.

They send you two discs and you have to give back one or pay for both, then you try to quit but the people on the other end of the line are con-artists who are trained to decieve you and prevent you from canceling your subscription. You are decieved over and over again for more money and have to jump hurdles to quit the thing. Then they love to go around throwing their lawyers at things which discredit them as you can see with the wiki article and the sites against them.

There definitely is merit for an article on him, certainly enough drama occurred for one :) I added the Miltopia betrayal in a form I hope you'll like. I agree with you about gratuitous uses of OVER 9000!!!, it like other tired phrases like Bureaucratic Fuck and Wikipedophile should probably be just piped too. We should make sure to blame the Wikipedia Review and Daniel Brandt for the drama, the forum was almost torn apart over it, and are still pretty distraught over their fight. The Reviewies are far better lolcows than the clowns over at TOW, see Musik Fabrik and The fieryangel for why. Basically a few people their couldn't handle the thought that someone successful (more successful than them that is) was editing Wikipedia.

Also I am fine with you having {{Wikipedos}} changed back, that one was well organized compared to {{WP}}. I like the gesture hats too, could you upload a version with a clear background? The portals are the way we have to go due to server load and the way changing series templates hurt performance given our current setup, but the goal is to make them as useful, user friendly, and well-accepted as possible. • Well, I did announce it on the TJC and I mentioned it briefly on the Users list, but nobody pays attention to that any way. As far as the server load thing goes - it's not a big deal for Wikipedia since they have a whole datacenter, but when someone changes a series template that is on 300 pages here, the wiki software thinks that it might be a good idea to re-render all of the pages that include the series template as well as verify all in-links to those pages, causing the entire site to hang. It was also getting to the point with things like the the DA template where a list of random names doesn't do anyone any good. However, the portals should not be presented to users as "this is how we are doing it and it's tough shit if you don't like it." The portal template that we're working off of is flexible and generalized, but if someone is passionate enough about a subject to come up with a really cool customized portal, they would have whatever help they need to get it working and keep it working well.
