The following is a formal apology from myself, user 'santa' at Lostpedia regarding our interaction there. For those EDiots reading this talk page who are unfamiliar with this issue, Wattage made some edits to our wiki, and was given a temp b& by me. Wattage and EDiots have brought the issue back to me, and I've reviewed what I did and considered what you've said. I've made a mistake and wish to apologize, and to explain the circumstances of that evening so you can better understand why I was careless that night.
In general I didn't know what ED was or whom I was fucking with. Now I know, and to be honest, I actually laughed my ass off when I read about the Hal Turner multitude of lulz. So I respect that, and defending your own. It's actually pretty cool and freaking hilarious.
The short story is that I made a rash and rushed decision and the circumstances behind that include:
- I didn't check all of your past contributions, my bad. He made some nice in-faith good contributions by any standards, even those of 'wikis with rules':
- I didn't realize that essentially all of your comments were restricted to talk pages, and should not have applied any b& for that. Why didn't I realize? I've been working my ass off and this wiki is just an outlet. Too much so I guess-- I've been pulling consecutive all night work sessions and I'm half delirious and hallucinating when I edit Lostpedia, and didn't notice that. Actually the main reason is below:
- I didn't really (at the time) care too much or look too critically at your exact text. I was careless. why? I know you prolly don't give a shit but I was really jumping in to defend a friend, user Captain Insano. The one thing we prolly have in common is sticking up for our own. I know you don't know the Captain's history at Lostpedia so let me explain... The Captain is one of the most abrasive, abusive, carelessly dismissive people on Lostpedia. He starts flame wars, over and over again. He's really well known for it. He also is one of the hardest workers, and our wiki wouldn't be the same without him, and is considered a friend, someone who I would help. He was passed over for sysop several times, then finally got it at Lostpedia. Then he got the b& hammer from up above (I'm the second lowest/newest sysop) and I feel really bad for him: he got his Ops taken away for mouthing off one too many times on n00b talk pages, nubs who pretty much deserved it. For examples, see his contributions, or his older archives here and some here.
- The Captain's newer talk contributions are much nicer, because he was told by up above to be nicer. In fact he's trying so hard to be all nice and proper and responsible when all he wants to do is give a good flame. So it saddened me to see him replying so formally and carefully to you on your talk page. He just had his ops taken away, so it was sorta pathetic to see him trying to be nice, and I really feel bad for what has happened to him, because I think we need some more freedom to talk in this wiki, and he provided a good balance of firepower, our own bad guy in the pocket.
- Anyways I was trying to help him out, I wasn't trying to apply a b& for keeping our "rules", even though I properly worded it like that.... I was tryin to help out a buddy who's our resident badmouth flamewar starter, b/c I think we need him to be that way, and not nice.
- So you got caught in that, and unlucky me, you're an EDiots so I'm fux0red, and so that's why I'm sorry =\
- I actually thought your final post, which I did read, was, quite frankly, dead on the truth and spot on freaking hilarious. You wrote about the Lost character Juliet's sexxay b00bies. I met her once, and I can tell you she is a thousand times more hot than on the show. In person: Amazing. And add to that, your comment is actually supported by the transcript of Lost here: Ben says "Has it not occurred to you that Juliet bears a striking resemblance to your ex-wife?". In other words she IS supposed to be sexy, and of course she was flirting with him all scene: "JACK: [Laughing] You people have cheeseburgers? JULIET: You have no idea what I went through to make this for you. I killed the cow, processed the meat, baked the bun. And the fries... try rendering animal fat. JACK: No ketchup?" I know other EDiots may not watch Lost, but it looks like you do, so you'll appreciate these points.
- So you were right, I was wrong. period.
- b& length: Well I basically laughed at your comment (since I agreed inside), was tired as shit from working, and mostly wanted to back up my flaming friend Captain Insano. Thus no way was this going to be a permab&. I was just going to apply a temp b& of a few hours, or maybe 1 day, but given that in your edit history, you don't visit Lostpedia that much, you probably wouldn't even notice it. Reluctantly and stupidly I chose 1 week, figuring there was a 50/50 chance you'd notice... too long but that is honestly what was goin through my head at the time. I see EDiots ops kick and ban wannabe ops from IRC all the time, that's all temporary and a sign of affection. I know you didn't take it like that, and I apologize.

Actually, mine was 2 weeks ago, still banned. I was only connected say 10 seconds and I was banned for being a haxor. I'd never been on the channel before and didn't even have a chance to say something in channel. So I'm guessing either they thought I was someone else or I was autobanned by the server. *sighs* idk...
