Sometime in the near future, a government laboratory buried deep beneath the surface of the earth will botch an experiment and zombies will rise up in search of brains upon which they will feast. This scenario is a popular subject of discussion on the internets, where everybody has played too many video games.

[edit] Survival

When the shambling horrors overtake our cities, very few living humans will remain. Most often people speculate on who will survive and who will become lunch. Plans about weapons, hideouts, and fuel and food supplies are frequently laid out by people who have never seen real firearms or been camping, let alone had to face the walking undead.

Most of the time Zombies seem to inhabit cities having to do with Racoons, or in a case of a shitty movie, (House of the Dead) a random Mexican island. Most of the time weapons can be found simply by looking around. And in cases of Zombie Infestations you usually have to solve inordinate amounts of shitty puzzles.

[edit] Types of Zombie Infestations

Zombies can be created several ways, most commonly through genetic experimentation gone wrong or malicious voodoo curses.

In the former, the government itself or an evil corporation experiments with viruses or other microbes and the infecting agent escapes into the general population, killing most and reanimating them. These walking corpses hunger for human flesh for undisclosed reasons and ravenously hunt down the living. Generally there is no cure and severing the head or destroying the brain is the only guaranteed way to completely kill a zombie.

In the case of a voodoo curse, the zombie is usually a person enslaved by a priest or priestess through black magic and is used to carry out the whims of their master, often for the purpose of lulz. These zombies are nowhere near as mindless as their corporate counterparts, and can be saved from zombification by killing the priest who cursed them. Voodoo zombie infestations are limited in scope and hardly as destructive as infestations by microbial zombies. Voodoo zombies are used in Japan, which is why the average worker does a 23-hour shift.

As a side note, in case of zombie infestations there are usually instances of mutated or enlarged creatures like spiders, worms, dogs and sloths that all somehow become zombie-fied and/or giant. There's probably a furry fetish for either of these..
