Barney (Frank) and Friends is a television show that came from the heart of hell. In the 1990s, if you wanted to torture someone to the edge of madness and beyond, you would lock them in a room playing nothing but "Barney the Dinosaur". In the realm of horrible tv, there was Barney and in the 90s no other children's television show was as hated and reviled as Barney. Songs were made bashing him, calling for his death, and in the case of "Animaniacs", portrayed as a cosmic horror that could not be killed or injured.
The main character, Barney was an anthropomorphic purple T-Rex that had been neutered and lobotomized and made into a pussy vegan slave to politically correct America. As such, Barney performed simple song and dance in order to teach children how to eat shit and how to rape furry animals at will.
Barney's general theme was driving adults to drink and plot ways to murder a dinosaur.
It was also ranked on TV Guide's List of the 50 Worst TV Shows of All Time at #50. Seriously.
Lack of Educational Value

It is now known that the true purpose of Barney was to produce brain dead morons who couldn't think for themselves and be spineless pussies. Many commented that the show lacked any educational value or substantive, positive content which only added to the hatred for the show.
As a matter of fact, one episode was notable for talking to strangers freely. Parents noted the dangers of such an action.
