IRC invite reply from the masked analyst
Wow! I'm honored! After reading your message I think I'm going to need to buy a bigger mask for my swelled head.
However, I will have to decline (at least for the time being) for several reasons.
1) You may find it hard to believe, but I've never used IRC before. I guess its time for me to learn, though I will be away from my computer for a few days for Thanksgiving vacation.
2)Though I strongly SUSPECT, that Wattagecat et al are doing this just for yucks, I can't rule out the possiblity that they have malicious motives to harm others. As you can probably guess, because I don't truly know the motives of those involved, I used an anonymous internet proxy when I visited ED. I don't want to visit ED until I can be absolutely sure that WC and others won't get my IP address. Though I strongly believe that this offer is genuine, there remains a small nagging feeling that it COULD just be an IP trap. I hope you don't take it personally since it is probably just me being overly cautious.
Until I learn more about IRC (and I'm sure I'm capable of finding instructions through a google search--I just never had the need to use it before), and until I can assure myself that my true IP won't be discovered, I think I will take a pass.
As far as the "Jews did WTC" thing--it is obviously being used as a hot button to get a rise out of people. But I guess we have different senses of humor--I just don't find it that funny. I'm not saying you shouldn't be using that expression, but I guess our sense of humors work differently.
Again, I am honored by the invitation and at some point in the future I may join you, but for now I must decline.
